Listening vs Hearing 
LISTENING 

● Conscious act 
● You intentionally focus on whatever you listen to 
● Uses decoding 

HEARING 

● Act of perceiving sound 


● Picking up sounds because of auditory skills 
● You don't process 

"Not all you hear, you can listen to. But all you can listen to, you can hear" 

Ethical Commitment of ​SENDER 

● Should be well prepared 


● Clearly communicate factual information (real and truthful) 
● Receive feedback (involves listening)

● Be open minded (involves listening)
