Academic freeze for 2020

On January 30 2020, the Department of Health reported the first case of COVID-19 in the Philippines,
that's when the virus begin to spread. As of now, over 200,000 cases were recorded alarming the whole
country. From region to region local government was forced to implement a community quarantine to
minimize the possible transmission of Covid-19. Borders were strictly guarded by armed forces to avoid
the possible transmission of virus from one place to another. Health sectors were raising red flags
because of lack of funds that were in needs to fight over this pandemic. Government were alarmed
because of the rapidly increase of Filipinos who was tested positive from Corona Virus sectors such as
economy, industrial and agricultural were highly affected. Because of the implementation of community
quarantine Filipinos were forced to stay indoors rather than working to solve for their daily living.
Amidst of chaos that was happening DepEd and Ched still urges to open the classes for school year
2020-2021. Online class have advantages and disadvantages. Avantage of online class is flexibility of
schedule, documenting class work and other, having the comfort of your home, etc. Disadvantage of
online class is, online class is not for everyone only those who have internet access and having a
cellphone or laptop for it in other words those who have financial means

Because of the threat of the virus face to face learning can no longer be possible method for teaching
pupils and students for now. The Department of Education together with the Commission for Higher
Education come up with the solution to teach the students or pupils with the help of technologies
known as online learning. What would you think if you had to go to the computer shop every day just to
attend your online classes, and every time you ask your parent money they have nothing to give you?
That is why I think the government should post pone the classes in 2020. To give consideration for
students that do not have money to keep up with the needs of education, and to lessen the burden we
have in pandemic

The Government should postpone the classes this year because many students do not have finances in
terms of funds to keep up with the needs of an online class and students have to go out to computer
shops. For example you were not born in a stable family, and now you are worrying how you can attend
online class how can you buy your needs for online classes and you will be risking your self going out and
getting exposed, the reason for this is that many student will stop this year because they can’t keep up
and the number covid cases will rise up because people will go out getting exposed. This will help to
reduce anxiety caused by the pandemic, also help decrease the covid case

(My final take on this why I think the government should postpone the 2020 school year because many
parents do not have jobs, the lost their jobs in the pandemic and now the parents is having a hard time
thinking that they should skip this 2020 school year because they have no money, This is important
because the student and the parent may suffer mental health problems from thinking that they have a
problem in terms of money, if the government postponed this school year everyone will be less stressed
) Isasama kopaba ito?

In conclusion i think the government is not giving consideration to all student’s, discriminating other
students who do not have access to technology
