Re: Assignment 2
Ans No 1:
The percentage of the giving data are given the following table:
22.3 to 32.1 68
17.4 to 37 95.5
From the calculation, it is said that 68 percentage of annual reviews of the department take
between from 22.3 to 32.1 because it lies ±1 standard deviation from mean. Synonymously
the 95.5% and 99.74% data are lies between the given ranges, because of ±2 and ±3 standard
deviation from the mean.
Ans No 2:
The stability index is created by using z-score. Here z-score is used to standardize the value of
middle-buying and ownership so that we can calculate the stability index for appropriate
calculation as they are not same variables. Ownership is calculated in the whole state but middle
income-owners are calculated among the ownership that’s why we weighted ownership rate
double in the index and the standard deviation is higher in ownership rate.
The stability index is highest in tract 13121-0080 in Atlanta, GA. The higher value means the
higher stability in the area. First we generate the z-score of middle-buying and ownership using
Spss as like Analyze<descriptive statistics<descriptive<save standardize value as variable.
Then stability index is calculated by using compute variable where index= (2*z-score of
ownerrship) + z-score of middle income.
The histogram shows the highest and lowest value of index and the distribution of stability
index. The distribution looks a normal distribution. Higher z-value of stability index indicate
the rate of home ownership and middle income peoples are higher in the tract and that also
increase the residential stability of the area. The negative score of residential stability index
indicates the lower rate of middle income home owner from the mean. Most of the tract have
same stability index with respect to mean index.
