How To Read Your Airline Ticket
Your airline ticket is your contract between you and your airline. It may be to
your advantage to know the following:
A - This field is the airline that your ticket was issued by, usually it represents the
airline that your flying on Domestically, or it will be the airline that takes you
"trans-Pacific" or "trans-Atlantic" to international destinations.
B - This field should be your legal name, as it would appear on your passport or
other ID.
D - This field is normally the airfare amount paid for your airline ticket, including
all taxes and airline fees. At Explorica this does not always reflect what we paid
for the ticket. Our ticket prices and some taxes are usually hidden or modified as
seen on the face of the ticket or the receipt, according to our contract
requirements.
E - This field is "PNR" (passenger name record) at Explorica this would be our
reservation number in Amadeus. It is also known as a "record locator"
I – This area used to be used as a boarding pass before the “Electronic ticket
era.” You can no longer use it as a boarding pass but you can see some details
regarding your flight itinerary.
