Standard Project Report Format

1. Outer Cover Page -Title of Project, Name and Register number of the student,
Institute’s name and logo, Department, University, Year
2. Inner Cover Page – Same as Outer Cover Page
3. Declaration by the student
4. Certificate given by the organization or industry
5. Certificate by the Guide
6. Certificate issued by the institute, signed by the HOD, and Head of the
institution, indicating the bonafide performance of project by the student
7. Acknowledgement
8. Table of Contents
9. List of Tables
10. List of Figures
11. Abbreviations, notations and operational definitions used
12. Executive Summary / Abstract / Synopsis
13. Chapter 1: Introduction, Industry and Organization Profile, Vision, mission,
and quality policy, infrastructure, SWOT analysis, Competitors, Future
growth and prospects, and financial statements
14. Chapter 2: Conceptual background and Literature Review (with minimum 10
literature sources reviewed)
15. Chapter 3: Research Design, Research Methodology

Information that is not essential to explain your findings, but that supports your analysis (especially
repetitive or lengthy information), validates your conclusions or pursues a related point should be placed
in an appendix (plural appendices). Sometimes excerpts from this supporting information (i.e. part of the
data set) will be placed in the body of the report but the complete set of information ( i.e. all of the data
set) will be included in the appendix. Examples of information that could be included in an appendix
include figures/tables/charts/graphs of results, statistics, questionnaires, transcripts of interviews,
pictures, lengthy derivations of equations, maps, drawings, letters, specification or data sheets, computer
program information.

There is no limit to what can be placed in the appendix providing it is relevant and reference is made to
it in the report. The appendix is not a catch net for all the semi-interesting or related information you
have gathered through your research for your report: the information included in the appendix must bear
directly relate to the research problem or the report's purpose. It must be a useful tool for the reader
(Weaver & Weaver, 1977).
Each separate appendix should be lettered (Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix B1, Appendix B2,
Appendix C, etc). The order they are presented in is dictated by the order they are mentioned in the text
of the report. It is essential to refer to each appendix within the text of the report; for example,

growth rate of accounts will significantly affect the valuation of the company.

MS Word, Times New Roman font, 12 point, A4 size paper, 1 inch margin on top,
right, and bottom, 1.5 inches margin on the left for binding, 1.5 line spacing,
Minimum 75 pages.

Numbering:
Chapter Heading boldface and decimal form, for example Chapter 2.0
Sections: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, ………
Sub-sections – 2.1.1, 2.1.2,…….
