t he t em perat ure of heat ed diesel oil To Suction filter
( 60° C t o 78° C) by 25° C.

z Change t o heavy oil by t urning t he change over cock, aft er fulfi lling t he t em perat ure
requirem ent s. The t em perat ure cont inues t o rise at a rat e of about 2° C per m inut e.

z Preheat t he diesel oil in t he service t ank t o about 50° C.

z Cut off t he st eam supply t o fuel oil preheat er and heat t racing.

z Reduce t he engine load t o t hree fourt h of MCR load.

z Change t o diesel oil when t he t em perat ure of t he heavy oil in t he preheat er has dropped t o
about 25° C above t he t em perat ure in t he diesel oil service t ank, but not below 75° C.

z When t he t em perat ure of t he heavy oil in t he preheat er has dropped t o about 25° C above t he
t em perat ure in t he diesel oil service t ank, but not below 75° C, change t o diesel oil.
