The Indoor Unit of The RTN: Web LCT Configuration - Logging in To An NE

The document discusses how to configure and manage network elements (NEs) using the T2000 Web LCT network management system. Key points include: 1. Creating and logging into NEs, including default username and password of "root" and "password". 2. Configuring attributes of NEs such as ID, interfaces (IF), radio frequency (RF), services, alarms and protection. Interface protection types include 1+1 HSB, 1+1 SD and 1+1 FD. 3. Setting attributes of interfaces, RF and advanced options like transmitted power, frequency, transmitter/receiver spacing, loopbacks and device status.

The indoor unit of the RTN

This is the processing unit

for the RTN

First of all we have to note that This unit is the main distributing unit for the RTN module . It give the
IF interfaces the clock signal internally because no External signal coming from the server up to
know .
So if any link has a flash alarm and no outdoor problems you first check this board reset it and may-
be the link will be stable

This is the IF
interface

Second we can add the IF interface to the main RTN module up to : 4 (1+0) microwave links and up to
2 (1+1) microwave link . (for example this is a (1+0) microwave link in the picture above .

Now we are able to create the NE (network element ) link in the software

Web LCT Configuration – Logging In to an NE

Step1 Double-click the T2000 Web LCT shortcut icon on the

desktop to launch the T2000 Web LCT.

Step2 The User Login screen is displayed. Enter the user name and
password. Click Login.
Step3 Create an NE in one of the following two ways.
1. Click NE Search and specify the search criteria. Select the NE to be
added to create a new NE.

Second step

First step
2. Create an NE directly. Click the “Add NE” and Enter the information of
the NE and create the NE.

The Password: password

Step 4: In the NE List, select the target NE and click NE Login. Then, the
IE displays the NE Login dialog box.

When an NE is created, you need to log in to the

NE first before managing the NE.
The User Name is root by default. The Password is
password by default.

Step 5:Enter the User Name and the Password. Then, click OK
Modifying the NE ID
Step 1 In the NE Explorer, choose Configuration > NE
Attribute from the Function Tree. Click Modify NE ID.

Step 2 Enter a new ID and click OK

Enter the new ID and extended ID.

The extended ID by default is 9, if no special request,
do not change it.

Step 3 In the NE list, delete the original NE. Create a new NE with the
new ID.
 After modifying the NE ID, you need to create and
log in to the new NE. Only in this way can you
recreate the communication between the Web LCT
and the NE.

 The supported IF protection is 1+1 HSB, 1+1 SD, and 1+1 FD.
 Create IF protection
Step 1 In the NE Explorer, choose Configuration > IF 1+1 Protection
from the Function Tree.

 If a Microwave is configured with the 1+1 HSB/FD/SD protection,

the relative information of the IF 1+1 protection need be
configured.

Step 2 Click New and enter the information of the IF protection. Click
OK or Apply.
Configuring IF Protection
Perform IF protection external switching. The priorities of external switching
commands are as follows: clear, lockout, force, and manual.

The switching commands are provided in

the shortcut menu. Select a protection
group, right-click and choose a switching
option from the shortcut menu.

Setting IF Attributes
 You can set the following IF attributes by using the T2000 Web LCT:
working mode, link ID, IF port loopback, 2 Mbit/s wayside service, and
ATPC-related information.
 In the NE Explorer, select an IF board and choose IF Interface from
the Function Tree.

2 Mbit/s wayside service: If the working mode of an IF board is STM-1, the

equipment can transmit a 2 Mbit/s wayside service through the regeneration section
overhead. The 2 Mbit/s wayside service is accessed through the external clock
interface, connected to the IF board without passing through the cross-connect
module, and transmitted through the regeneration section overhead. The input
board of the 2 Mbit/s wayside service is the corresponding cross-connect board.

• You can enable automatic transmit power control (ATPC), and adjust
the threshold and the ATPC adjustment.

Setting RF Attributes
 By using the T2000 Web LCT, you can query and configure
the following RF attributes: transmit frequency, T/R spacing,
transmitted power, ODU manufacturer information, RF
loopback status, and ODU status.
 Frequency attributes

Setting RF Attributes

 Transmitted power: For the OptiX RTN equipment, the IDU

type is not related to a frequency band, while the ODU type
depends on a frequency band. According to the supported
channel, the bandwidth is divided into multiple frequency
points. Signals can be correctly transmitted and received only
when the frequency point of the transmitted matches the
frequency point of the receiver. Hence, you need to set the RF
frequency point for a port.
 Query the actual transmitted power . When you enable
ATPC, as ATPC automatically adjusts the transmitted power,
the actual transmitted power that you query may be the same
as the power that you set. You can query the actual transmitted
power.
Setting RF Attributes
 Transmitted power: For the OptiX RTN equipment, the IDU type is
not related to a frequency band, while the ODU type depends on
a frequency band. According to the supported channel, the
bandwidth is divided into multiple frequency points. Signals can be
correctly transmitted and received only when the frequency point of
the transmitted matches the frequency point of the receiver. Hence,
you need to set the RF frequency point for a port and the value must
be an integer multiple of 250.
 T/R spacing refers to the spacing between the transmitted power and
the received power. To ensure that the transmitted power and the
received power do not interfere with each other, there must be
spacing between them. Some ODUs support two TR spacing. Under
special conditions, the standard TR spacing cannot meet the
requirement. Hence, you need to set the TR spacing. If you do not set
it, you can set this parameter to 0.
 The product SN includes the serial number and manufacturer
number.
Advanced Attributes
 you set RF loopback and ODU status

 Configure the transmission status. To avoid transmission interference, after the

ODU is powered on, it is disabled to transmit signals by default. Hence, after you
apply the ODU configuration to an NE, you need to manually enable the RF
transmission of the ODU and the message is directly sent to the ODU to enable
or disable the RF transmission. The ODU works in this way .
Configuring a Service
 This operation is applicable to VC4, VC3, and VC12 services.
 Procedure
Step 1 In the NE Explorer, Configuration -> Cross-Connection
Configuration from the Function Tree.

Step 2 Click New, enter the information of a service and click OK or Apply
Web LCT Configuration – Alarm
By using the T2000 Web LCT, you can view the current and history
alarms, the reporting status of alarms for an NE and boards, and
abnormal events.
