According to Dagdag et al. (2017), as cited in his study

entitled “Examining the factor of Licensure Examination for Teacher
Performance for Program Strategy Enhancement”, based on the finding
emphasizes that course audit review and licensure are not
significantly associated with all aspects of the licensure examination
and the licensure exam as a whole. It somehow refutes the findings of
Visco [1] that licensure exam review is a good predictor of licensure
examination. On the other hand, it coincides to some degree with the
assertion of Pachejo and Allaga [13] that good performance during
college cannot guarantee a good performance in licensure exam.
However, the current study proves that course audit performance can
predict LET performance in Major which reflects the practice that most
of the time, the review for licensure examination focuses only on
students’ specialization.

there is still a need to consider studying and/or revisiting the
impact of the present departmental and institutional practices on LLE
performance. The problematic areas must be given more focus and
emphasis during instruction and review. Graduates must be encouraged
to attend review classes, and the institution must do something to
reach out to the repeaters. Course appraisal must also be properly
monitored and implemented. Moreover, the institution might consider
benchmarking on the best practices of top-performing institutions.
Finally, there must be a follow-up study on the impact of other
examinee variables, teacher characteristics and administrative support
on licensure performance. Furthermore, evaluation and studies should
also be conducted on the effect of other intervention programs on
licensure results.

State that Initial teacher licensure tests do not provide information
to distinguish moderately qualified from highly qualified teacher
candidates nor are they designed to test all of the competencies
relevant to beginning practice.
Clark (2005) reported that initial teacher education programs, in

order to comply with the requirements for teacher registration, are
usually expected to introduce student teachers to the mandated
curriculum. Often this is done uncritically, so students tend to
accept rather than examine the underlying epistemological model which
partitions knowledge into distinct "pillars of wisdom". But there is
little agreement over how knowledge is to be partitioned, which raises
the question if it can be partitioned at all. A different
philosophical model--holism--is proposed based on the metaphor of a
spider's web, and the Queensland "New Basics" project is given as an
example which fits this alternative approach. A second problem is in
the overcrowding of the curriculum and here Project 2061 offers a set
of robust criteria for making rational decisions about curriculum
content.
Skinner (2010) argued that the implications of the concept of situated
learning are important when developing a curriculum for initial
teacher education (ITE). It describes and analyses the use of a model
of ITE designed to stimulate discussions promoting the development of
professional craft knowledge situated mainly in schools and to connect
these with a wider research-based understanding of educational issues
situated mainly in the context of university departments. Findings
from a study of trainee teachers following a one-year postgraduate ITE
programs based on this model indicate that it did help trainees to
develop professional craft knowledge. However, socio-cultural
differences between the school and university contexts made it
difficult for trainees to translate ideas introduced in the university
into their school-based practice. The implications of these findings
for developing the model and for ITE in general are discussed.
Papier (2010) analyzed recent national policy on further education and

training (FET) college lecturer development in South Africa in the
light of more established curricula and practice for the training of
vocational teachers internationally. The policy published by the
National Department of Education suggests standards for college
teaching which encompass academic competence, work experience and
pedagogic competence. However, qualifications are yet to be designed,
developed and offered by universities and other providers that hold
responsibility for teacher education. The article explores local and
global Vocational Teacher Education (VTE) policies and curricula in an
attempt to highlight the agreed-upon elements of curricula that could
pave the way for South African policy on vocational lecturer
development to be implemented.
