Betfair is the largest online betting community catering to more than 5 million transactions per day from users
from different counties in Europe, US and Australia. The project I’ve been initially recruited for is an
integration of Betfair UK with Italy to provide seamless integration of Betfair products with their Italy
counterparts.
I’m involved with Architecture discussions/design, rolling out HLDs and now incorporating best coding
practices in the production code. The development is done by Betfair vendors and my involvement is to ensure
the work is up to industry standards which involve all the aspects of the cycle from design, code till delivery
upon sign off.

I have been recruited to this project for performance optimisation and new design/ development purposes. I was
responsible for 2 dev teams one in the UK and the other offshore (Pune, India). My involvement has been
through various projects ranging from Customer Service applications to UI enhancement projects(involving
multi-platform front end rendering)
 I am involved in architecture based discussions around the SOA implementation for a Customer
Service application; this involves incorporating best practices w.r.t. User interactions.
 Beginning March’10 I have been given the task to implement a brand new service task for a ‘last
moment’ requirement adhering to the existing standards. Currently involved with devising SOA
roadmaps and governance etc.
 Within the same project, the back end implementation i.e. WebService orchestrations according to the
requirement, again encouraging SOA approach with the re-use.
 I have been able to convince the project management into using Hudson CI by providing a small
demonstrational prototype and it has been happily included as the build mechanism.
 I have also been involved with the screen flow discussions owing to my prior experience and my client
requirement delivering ability.

Reorganisation of our team allowed me to move into Design team where I lead the Design and Development of
real-time multi-threaded bespoke applications and specialist services to BT using Java/J2EE using Struts,
Hibernate and Spring technologies. I led a team of 5 developers including 2 fresh starts.
 Redesigned and migrated a poorly performing and outdated application to spring, Hibernate, JMS and
JSF(Oracle ADF) based system using the Agile best practices such as BDD and TDD which performs
40% faster than its previous counterpart.
 Successfully performed migration from the AquaLogic ESB to its new counterpart from Oracle (OSB);
including migration from SOA Suite 10g to 11g.
 Improved the overall quality of the Java/Oracle/XML/JSF (Oracle ADF) based on-line Internet System
used for reporting billing inventories using Oracle’s Business Intelligence ( migrated from SAP
Business Objects).
 Designed and led a project to produce a Portal/Dashboard application which is used for Handling the
architecture and solution design for effectively delivering the BTGS domain based solution using
WebService (WS-BPEL), BPM-SOA, Agile methodologies like Scrum.
 Development of proxy and business services end to end using WSDL and XSD as the starting
documents using OSB 10.
 I also implemented Enterprise Continuous Integration (ECI) (with binary dependency) using Cruise
Control, ANT/ Maven with Subversion source control replacing the existing SourceSafe
 Took on the role of SCRUM master and responsibility for line management of a team of 3 developers
working on a mixture of web front end and Server-Side work. I report daily to the programme manager
on their progress and biweekly at the end of iteration.
 Prepare SOA and Web service integration specifications, Architecture and design documents, Co-
ordinate with the BA’s and Client.
 Designed the low level Architecture for the Common Ordering Tool’s logical data model, hence
allowing a single Interface for BT’s customers to prepare an Order.
 Manage the Message flow in ESB layer using proxy and business services.
 Improved performance, fixed memory leaks and improved robustness of the high volume transactional
batch processes.

Global Services in BT is one of the high profile projects with a huge team across various locations world wide.
The Team was given the extremely important task to ensure the E2E data integrity across numerous BT
databases.
My work stack included the following tasks :
• Performing Requirement Analysis in F2F meetings with the Client and thus analysing the Business
perspective of the requirement thoroughly.
• Designed user interface using Java Server Pages.
 Developed and Implemented the Code using Test Driven Development (TDD) approach.
 Prepare SOA and Web service integration specifications, Architecture and design documents, Co-
ordinate with the BA’s and Client; integration with the WebSphere portal stack.
 Continuous Design Improvements & Simple Design Practice was implemented to keep the models as
simple as possible.
 Implemented the Inventory order Dashboard using OLAP and Oracle BI intelligence tool.
 Generation of SOAP UI Test packs for the technical and business services.
 The code quality and the defects were reduced as a result of collective code ownership.
• Coding Standards were implemented while the programming in support of the collective code
ownership using Check Style.
• Created Servlets to interact with forms and databases.
• Track project status and management reviews within the project through Daily progress calls.
• Act as a central co-ordination for the defect preventive team.
• Analysis and Design of the project through thorough understanding of the Business Logic.
• Integral part in providing the solution for the fault rose.

Networks This profile involved planning of the Network upon the client requirements. Once a topological plan was
finalised, the firmware was coded according to the plan. The role required in-depth knowledge of various
routing protocols.
The Transmission Technology used was SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy). As an Executive Engineer my
work stack included:
• F2F client interaction including requirement gathering and providing spontaneous plausible solutions.
• Supervising the accurate implementation of the Design until satisfactory UAT from the Client.
• Configuration of the Firmware on the specific nodes according to the Network Plan.
• Integration/Configuration of the master node NMS.
• Did the TAC 2 support for Siemens SDH Optical Multiplexers.
• I was also a part of the training programs for the Clients at Siemens premises.

Mediation Java/J2ee, WebLogic, Oracle 8.1.7, Linux7.1 (Dev.), Sun Solaris (Imp.)
Mediation allows call data records (CDRs) to be collected from data sources and loaded into an Oracle database
where the information is then available to other applications.
As a Team member:
 Contributed in the development of an application which loads the source from the switch and the switch
specific plug-in that parses the source file and extracts the data fields for each record (CDR).
 Documented the Development Process.
