Wordbuilder in A 64 Bit Environment
Wordbuilder in A 64 Bit Environment
To use Wordbuilder with a 64bit host you'll need a virtual MIDI cables that are compatible with a 64bit OS.
When used below, "Internal MIDI" refers to the LoopBe30 virtual MIDI Cables which can be purchased here:
http://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe30.html. Sonar is used in this setup guide; some setup instructions may vary in
other applications.
Download and install LoopBe30. Open the LoopBe30 Monitor and set "Ports After Reboot" to 5. Make sure the
box "Enable Shortcut Detection" is not selected; if this is enabled the amount of data transferred by
Wordbuilder will cause LoopBe30 to mute the ports.
Now open the WordBuilder stand‐alone program to set up each voice. For the Sopranos, enter the voice name
and type, and in the MIDI In section select "1. Internal MIDI" and "Channel 1". For MIDI Out select "2. Internal
MIDI" and "Start in MIDI Channel 1".
Continue by setting up the Altos, Tenors and Basses. The other voices should be configured as follows:
Create a new project with the "Blank" template. Create 4 MIDI tracks (these will be your data tracks) and set
the outputs to "1. Internal MIDI" and assign each a different channel (1‐4).
With your data tracks set up, create 20 more MIDI tracks ‐ these will be the tracks that bring Wordbuilder's
output back into Sonar. Assign 5 tracks to each voice, designating them as "Soprano WB‐In 1; Soprano WB‐In
2" etc. To keep things organized, use track folders to separate each voices input tracks. When you're done,
you should have 4 folders (one each SATB) with 5 tracks per folder.
For the Soprano WB‐In tracks, set input as "2. Internal MIDI" assigning each track a separate channel 1‐5.
Continue with the other voices, assigning Altos to "3. Internal MIDI", Tenors to "4. Internal MIDI" and Basses
to "5 Internal MIDI", each using channels 1‐5. Finally, on all WB‐In tracks enable Input Echo.
With all the MIDI tracks set up, insert an instance of Kompakt for each voice and mic position you want to use.
Make sure the box next to "Create MIDI Source" is not selected, since you already have the MIDI sources
created.
With the synths inserted, go back to your WB‐In tracks and assign the outputs of each track to the appropriate
Kompakt instance, making sure each track is outputting to the same channel (1‐5) that it's receiving from.
Assign your synth outputs as you normally would.

This setup will work with Kontakt as well. Make sure the Wordbuilder voices are set properly for Kontakt
voices, and then just add 5 more tracks to each WB‐In folder, assigning these to channels 6‐10 on their
respective inputs and outputs.
