Introduction
Maths rotations will be used in Term 1 to facilitate recognition of money, number and shape. Each of these topics will be embedded into learning once per week, in addition
to demonstration of financial literacy skills during shopping walks.
General Outcomes for the Unit
Students in Jacaranda One will:
Develop recognition and sorting of: shapes, numbers and money denominations
Develop an understanding of ‘bigger’ and ‘smaller’ in regards to number and money values
Transfer coin recognition to a written money denomination (eg. $2 - $2.00)
Use the Clark Road money method to demonstrate emergent financial addition skills
Recognise the features of 2D shapes.
