Writing task: Describe your city

An English-speaking friend wants to visit you this year. Complete the table with Useful language
information about your town / city. Use the Useful language and the notes you Useful phrases
made in the Engage task to help you prepare. • Hi / Dear …

Tip  An email to a friend uses informal, friendly language. Use contractions and try to
sound interested in your friend’s news. Plan your letter before you start.
Follow this structure:
• Tell your friend that you’re happy about his / her visit.
• Give your friend some information about the seasons and weather in your country.
When’s the best time to visit? Why?
• Tell your friend about activities you can do in your town / city.
• Ask your friend to write soon.

I stay in San Felipe del Progreso, today in the town is summer but the weather is
sometimes sunny an another rainy.

When you visit San Felipe del Progreso, you can go to the cinema with your friends,
go to the park and go to the mall with your boyfriend, girlfriend and family.

This part of the earth is bautiful so, you visit me.
