INTERSHIP REPORT

NAME OF STUDENT :- Pawankumar Mishrilal Pawara

ROLL NO.:- TYB226

TOPIC OF INTERSHIP :- Construction Intership

INDUSTRY :- Samarth Comprehensive Civil Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.
INDUSTRY MENTOR :- Mr. Anil Mahadik
FACULTY MENTOR :- Mr. Bhaskar Wabhitkar
SCOPE OF WORK :- Project Work
PLATFORM :- Online Webinar

 WEEK - 01
OUTCOME:-
1. Firstly, the introduction of the company with its projects given to us.
2. The life cycle of the project was introduce from land investigation to the demolition
of the structure.
3. The functional planning for the structure is to be needed like aspect, prospect, privacy
etc.
4. We have comes to know about reading of architectural and structural drawings.
5. We have learn the scheduling of column.
6. From the structural drawings we come to know about the number of links provided.
For different parts like column, slab, beam etc. given different schedule. There are
two types of slabs : (1) one way slab & (2) two way slab. For one way & two way
slabs different thickness of slabs are constructed.
7. For beams from bottom & top reinforcement are different. In beams, bottom
reinforcement are divided into three parts: left, mid & right. In left & right side
connections are provided. For beams shear stirrups also provided.
8. For the footings different reinforcement is provided. Footings are of diiferent types :
pad footing, stepped footing slope footing etc. For underground water tank
reinforcement may or may not be needed
 WEEK – 02
LEARNING:-
1. Life cycle of project.
2. Reading architectural and structural drawings.
3. How to do line out on actual site.
4. Steps to do proper footing reinforcement& shuttering.
5. How to do scaffolding’s ?

OBSERVATIONS:-
1. Life cycle of project is an important aspect of project execution it includes land
survey, geotechnical survey, architectural& structural drawing, structural analysis,
construction, maintenance, structural audit, retrofitting, demolition.
2. Planning of the construction work is based on the architectural & structural drawings.
The client’s requirements are noted accordingly an architectural drawing of the site is
created considering the Principals of planning & Sun diagram.
3. Then the drawings are verified in terms of structural stability by structural engineer
and final drawings are prepared which can be used by construction supervisor.
4. The construction site is leveled with the help of the either cutting or filling of the land.
5. The lineout is implemented on the site with the help of the measuring tape and
threads.
6. After line out the excavation is done according to the type of soil. Block excavation is
done where the soil is black cotton; isolated footing excavation is done for hard
marum.
7. After excavation at the column marking the column is constructed on pcc layer. For
which footing is decided from the labor availability as skilled labor is required for
sloped & trapezoidal footing.
8. Vertical shuttering of 18 mm ply is provided to column.
9. Types of scaffoldings and its proper alignment are necessary for the safety of the
workers.

DIFFICULTIES FACED:-

 While performing line out drawing a straight line is to be done with the help of the
measuring tape and threads, so it very difficult to make accurate 90 degree of angle
between the lines so to counter the problem the arc method is used.

OUTCOME:-

 The concepts like line out, footing and excavation are cleared in this week.
 Learned new techniques that will be useful in actual site work.
 Understand the importance of planning and timely execution of the work.
 WEEK - 03

LEARNING:-
1. Need & Importance of estimation.
2. Methods of estimation.
3. Rate analysis.
4. How to fill measurement sheet & abstract sheet.

OBSERVATIONS:-
1. Estimation is an important phase of the project, it helps in applying for a tender or
any other work and provide initial baseline regarding costing of the project.
2. It can be done by two methods i.e. approximate and Detailed depending upon
scope of the project.
3. Approximate method contains plinth area method & volume method.
4. Detailed method comprises of the long wall and short wall method, Centre line
method, crossing method.
5. Long wall and short wall method is the most widely used method in estimation,
where the long wall is the wall with greater length and perpendicular to that is the
short wall.
6. In these method the long wall is measured in out to out while short wall is
measured in the in to in format.as a result the length of long wall decrease from
footing to plinth area and vice versa.
7. The method is used to fill out the details in Measurement sheet & Abstract sheet
8. Measurement sheet contains column like description of item, length, breadth,
volume, quantity.
9. While abstract sheet contains columns like particular, quantity, unit, rate, amount,
total amount.
10. The output of the measurement sheet is the quantity of material while abstract
sheet denotes the costing.

DIFFICULTIES FACED:-

 The data filed in measurement sheet and abstract sheet required some preliminary
calculation which was initially difficult to understand but which was later cleared by
the mentor.

OUTCOME:-

 The concepts of estimation and costing are cleared in this week.

 Learned how to fill measurement sheet and abstract sheet.
