Physical Health
Your body is like a machine. It will give many years of good service if you treat it well.
1. Have a regular check up by the doctor.
2. Try to take as much well balanced diet as possible.
3. Daily exercise (it will be helpful if you could continue your scouting activities or
participate in sports).
4. Protect your self and prevent from all the communicable disease.
5. Never allow to cough and sneeze directly to you (always advise to cover the mouth and
nose before coughing and sneezing)
6. Practice all clean habits while on eating (clean the eating utensil such as dishes , spoons ,
cups and sauces before and after eat)
7. Wash your hands before you eat, and after the toilet with soap and water.
1. Eat proper foods, too much of candies, chocolates, sweets, soft drinks. cookies or
chips can damage your teeth. Wash out the teeth with at least clean water after eating
any kind of sweets.
2. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and before going to bed. It is better to brush or
clean the teeth after each meal.
3. Have a check up by the dentist or with your Health Worker once or twice a year.
1. Try to protect your eye when you play and doing hard work.
2. Never try to see welding light by the naked eye. Always wear eye glass or protective
eye mask to see such strong eye.
3. Avoid watching TV in short distance from very far distance for a long time
4. Always wash with running water if there is any itching , irritation or burning sensation of
your eye.
5. Never try to watch the Sun or Moon eclipse by your naked eye.
Eating Habits
Your body needs regular nourishing food that will help you to grow. your food groups are
necessary for good health as :
Proteins
Fats / Lipids
Carbohydrates
Vitamins & Minerals
Eat well balanced diets in your every day meals to keep up your body healthy. Balanced diet
means of foods
containing proteins , fats , carbohydrates , minerals, and Vitamins. These important parts
may contain in the following foods , some of them will be very rich in some of them.
1. Meat , milk foods and drinks , eggs contains proteins. Try to eat at least 3 - 4 eggs in a
week.
2. Vegetable and fruits will contains vitamins, mineral, and carbohydrates. It is better to eat
litrus fruit or tomatoes daily.
3. Flour products (such as bread , biscuits , buns or Faaroshi) contains proteins,
carbohydrates. your body will need to be rich in them too.
4. Your body needs lot of water for all its activities. Drink plenty of water during daytime
and never stay for long if you are thirsty.
To live and to grow each cell of the body must have steady supply of oxygen. The oxygen
should be reached to the lungs through the nostril but not from the mouth. Same time the body
needs sunlight to grow up your body. Without proper sun light and oxygen nothing can grow
properly. You should clean your surrounding area always clean and tidy.
1. Clean all the dirt and rubbish from your home compound.
2. Clean your room every day. Wipe out all the windows.
3. Always sleep in a place where you can get fresh air.
4. If you grow up trees in your garden the oxygen you receive will be very clean and pure.
5. If you have enough ventilation you will have fresh breeze.
Sleep
If you don’t get enough sleep you will not be healthy. So to be healthy you should have
enough sleep and rest.
With proper sleep and rest you will grow like a healthy person. If you sleep 9 - 10 hours
during the age of
11 - 16, you will grow like a very healthy boy.
