QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1. Why did you pick this particular organization, institution or individual?

Ans: My cousin was in a trouble to make a website which can be used for speed
typing game. He doesn’t know how to code. So,he asked me if I could help him
in this matter. As I knew little bit about coding, making games and webdesigning
I picked his project eagerly. He told me to make a website which can be used for
speed typing test and it will also contain some animation. So, after studying
about this matter I decided to make a game, which I named it “Key.Smasher”.

In this game, random letters will come to the screen and user needs to type it before
it gets vanished. Thats the main concepts. But beside this I did some design and
animation in this website.

eg. for “Restart” button I used glowing button effect which will act like a bulb when
user will touch it, it will turn into green. So, this is not a normal button. In the
background it is simply not an image or GIF image.This is also animation as well. It
is called liquid background with svg effect.What it will do is, the letter will come
randomly and act like it is melting. If user touch “key.smasher” word it will act like it
is vanishing and will act like a smoke. And eventually, for menu bar I did some
animation. And home, contact and about button I linked 3pages just for sample(It
was not the thing my cousin wanted). It is actually a game but I am calling it website
because the game is basically inside the website and I designed it as a website as
well.

2. How did you identify the problem to solve and why did you pick this problem
over others?

Ans: For solving the problem I have done some researched. Searched lots of
stuff in the internet related to my project. I have seen lots of css and javascript
programming videos, articles in the internet to get some ideas and also for
learning(As I am not a profession programmer). I did some rough works,plans in
my notebook. And eventually started working for that project.

I picked up this problem over others because I am his nearest cousin and beside
that I am the only person in this family who is studying in computer science. He
thought I would be able to do it properly. Beside that, I was confident enough to
complete this project properly. And I have made it properly , how he was wanted
it.

3. Describe your approach. How did you come up with it? Is it the best possible
solution? Why?

Ans: Firstly I have seen that what types of website I have to make. According
to this, I have done some rough works in my notebook(Drawing-how the website
will look, some basic ideas what language I have to use etc) . So,after that I
decided that I will use javascript for game and css for the website design.
According to my knowledge of these programming languages, I think it is the
best possible solution. But I could add some more pages, more animations and
could go more deep in the game development. But as I am not a advanced
programmer,it might take some more time and might take some more effort to
learn new things to do that.

4. Describe your previous skillset. Did you learn anything new in the past three
weeks?

Ans: I have used HTML5,JAVASCRIPT AND CSS language to make this website. Previously I
had some basic ideas about JAVASCRIPT and HTML5 language. But,I Haven’t made any
project with advanced javascript and css before. Beside that I can say, css language was
totally new to me. Almost within this 3weeks I have learned a lot about designing a website
by css. In my project I have mostly focused on website designing. The reason behind this is
to learn css more advancedly. Because I think for game designing,website designing ,and for
other stuff css is mandatory even though it is not a programming language. So, yes I have
learned a lot of new things in the past three weeks. And coding everyday was so fun. By
making this project I felt that, software engineering will be the perfect choice for me.
