Jitsi Video Conferencing User Guide

Jitsi is a set of open-source projects that allows you to easily build and deploy secure video conferencing
solutions. At the heart of Jitsi are Jitsi Videobridge and Jitsi Meet, which let you have conferences on the internet,
while other projects in the community enable other features such as audio, dial-in, recording, and simulcasting.
In our scenario, we added jitsi module on odoo server. This guide is for user who received the invitation mail
for meeting.

Recommand using Chrome Browser .


Step 1 – Received Email from meeting owner. Please click on the underline hyperlink word like “JOIN MEETING”.

Or you can Right click and select “Copy Hyperlink” and paste the link to Chrome Browser .

Step 2 – This link will open your default browser. Jitsi recommand Chrome Browser for use. It will ask your
camera access and you mic access for video and voice. Please click “Allow”.
Step 3 – After click “Allow” button, it will show you to add extension for Google Calendar and Office 365 Integration.
I would like to recommend to click “Install Chrome Extensions”.

Step 4 – If you click on “Install Chrome Extension”, it will bring you next tab for chrome web store where you can
install extensions. In that page, please click on “Add to Chrome”.
Step 5 – Another window will appear for add extension. Click on “Add extension”.

After that it no longer show “Add to Chrome”, it means installing extension is success:
Step 7 – Let’s get back to jitsi meeting link. Your screen

If you click on tile view , you can view all of member who has joined the meeting including your account.
Password – If you want to set password for the meeting, click on “ ” at the bottom right corner of the screen. And
then set the password by click on “Add password”.

After you set the password, the picture will show as below:

If you forgot the password, you can check back in that icon:
Setting – If you want to change setting for the meeting in your own, please click on “ ⋮ ” on bottom left corner . It
will take you to more setting group with top row: your name.

For video quality, click on the “Manage video quality”, then you can set the video quality. If you choose “Low
bandwidth”, you cannot use video but voice still.
Recording – If you want to record the meeting for notes or something, you have to sign in to your Dropbox to save.

Profile – For setup profile, click on “Fellow Jitsiter”, then you can set display name and email.
In Settings, you can choose which devices that will be used in meeting: Camera, Microphone and Audio output. You
can test sound in this window by clicking “Play a test sound”.

If you want to mute everyone, click on “Mute Everyone”.


If you want to see the member active time stats, click on “Speaker Stats”

You can also give rating on meeting experience.


If you want to know more about shortcuts for meeting, you can check out at “ Keyboard shortcuts “.

Share your screen – If you want to present presentation or show file from your screen, Click on “Share your screen”
at the left bottom corner side of your screen.

In the “Share your screen” window box, you can share with three options:

1. Your entire screen means you will show your full entire screen in video meeting.
2. Application Window means you can choose which app or file only to show in meeting

3. Chrome Tab means you can choose which extension in chrome to show in meeting
Raise/Lower Your Hand –

You can ‘raise your hand’ to indicate to others that you want to speak. On a laptop this is a hand symbol in the
bottom left hand corner of the screen.

When speaker is giving speech, you can use and view chat for writing conversation.
