Job Requirements: The selected candidate will be working in the area of quality
assurance and quality control of composite structures. This includes implementation of
ISO 9000 quality requirements, preparation of quality manuals, quality audits. The
incumbent is also expected to take a major responsibility in meeting the quality
requirements of certifying agencies like DGCA, DGAQA, CEMILAC, ISO 9000
organisation.
Desirable: Exposure to QA practices to airworthy composite structures.

NOTE: One post each of Scientist in Gr IV(2) and Scientist in Gr IV(4) indicated at
Sl.No.5 & 6 is for CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation
(C-MMACS), NAL Campus, Bangalore. C-MMACS was established in 1988 to undertake
major tasks in modelling and simulation in selected Scientific and Engineering areas and
to strengthen ongoing similar activities in the CSIR Laboratories/Institutes. C-MMACS has
strong base of contemporary computing facilities and has made significant contributions in
the areas of Ocean/Atmosphere Modelling, GPS geodesy, Nonlinear Dynamical System
Theory and Industrial Computational Mechanics.
I. BENEFITS:
The positions carry Pay and Allowances at Central Government rates as applicable

as Leave Travel Concession and Reimbursement of medical expenses are also
available as per rules.
2. All New Entrants will be governed by the “New Pension Scheme” based on defined
Contributions for new entrants recruited in Central Government Services on or after
1-1-2004, as adopted by CSIR for its employees. However, persons selected from
other Government Departments / Autonomous Bodies / Public Sector Undertakings /
Central Universities having Pension Scheme on GoI pattern will continue to be
governed by the existing Pension Scheme i.e. CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972.
3. All Scientists are entitled for Career Advancement on the basis of Flexible
Complementary Scheme of CSIR.
4. All Scientists in Gr. IV(1), IV(2) and IV(3) are eligible for Rs.10,000/- per annum and
Scientists in Gr IV(4) are eligible for Rs.20,000/- per annum as Professional Update
Allowance. Further, all Scientists in Gr.IV(2) and above are also eligible for 2
Additional Increments after their normal fixation. The 2 additional increments shall
not be treated as part of pay for any purpose and shall be computed on the pay plus
Grade Pay at the time of entry in the grade: it will remain constant during the entire
period of residency in the grade and will be recomputed on promotion to the next
grade.

1. The date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications and/or experience shall
be the closing date prescribed for receipt of Online Electronics Application form i.e.
20 February, 2011.
2. Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for the regular employees working in CSIR
Laboratories/Institutes, Government Departments, Autonomous Bodies and Public
Sector Undertakings.
3. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST and by 3 years in the
case of OBC candidates for the posts which are reserved for the respective
categories. Relaxation of upper age limit for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and
Ex-servicemen will be applicable as per GoI Rules. The SC/ST/OBC candidates who
apply against Unreserved vacancies will not be eligible for age relaxation.
4. Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years applicable for persons who had ordinarily
been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J&K during the period
1-1-1980 to 31-12-1989 subject to production of a certificate from the District
Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily
resided or from any other authority designated in this behalf by the Government of
J&K to the effect that he/she had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of
the State of J&K during the period from 1-1-1980 to 31-12-1989.
5. Marginal relaxation in age limit and/or experience may be allowed in the case of
exceptionally meritorious candidates at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
4. Candidates applying for more than one post should submit separate Online
Application form for each post indicating the Category and Post Code along with
prescribed application fee and copies of all marks cards, certificates and testimonials
separately for each post.

7. Application from the candidates working in CSIR, Govt. Departments and Public
Sector Undertakings will be considered only if forwarded through proper channel
within 15 days from the closing date prescribed for receipt of online applications and
with a clear certificate that the applicant will be relieved within one month of receipt of
appointment order, if selected. However, Advance copy (Xerox copy) of the
Online Electronics Application Form together with application fee, all
certificates & testimonials etc. must be submitted before the closing date.
8. Mere fulfillment of essential qualifications and experience does not vest any right in a
candidate for being called for Test/Interview. A duly constituted Screening Committee
shall screen the applications received for the posts and organize a Written test or
Seminar if considered necessary for short-listing the candidates to be called for
interview. The Laboratory reserves the right to call for Test/Interview only those
candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable and will not entertain any
correspondence in this regard.
9. Printout of Online Electronics Application Form not accompanied with (i) photograph
of the applicant; (ii) prescribed application fee; (iii) requisite information asked for in
the Online Electronics Application form; (iv) Xerox copies of Marks Card / Certificates
for all the semesters/years from degree level onwards; (v) Proof regarding date of
birth & age; (vi) SC/ST/OBC/PWD certificates in the case of reserved posts; and
applications received after the closing date will not be considered. Incomplete
applications will be outrightly rejected.
10. Candidates should specifically note that the applications received after the closing
date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelopes wrongly addressed, delivered
elsewhere, postal delay etc.) will not be entertained by this Laboratory. Any
enclosure received separately subsequent to the receipt of the application cannot be
connected therewith. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
11. Only outstation candidates (within India) called for interview will be reimbursed
Travelling Allowance (TA) as admissible under rules i.e. a single Second Class
Railway Fare (by Mail or Express) each way from their normal place of residence or
from the place of undertaking the journey, whichever is nearer to Bangalore on
production of proof of journey. For road journeys between stations not connected by
rail, the actual bus fare or road mileage at the lowest rate as admissible under rules,
will be reimbursed, on production of documentary proof (bus tickets) and provided
that the distance covered by road is more than 20 miles each way.
12. NAL reserves the right not to fill up all the posts, if it so desires. The number of
vacancies indicated above may vary at the time of actual selection.

13. The selected candidates will be on probation for a period of – (a) ONE YEAR in case
of Scientists in Gr.IV(2) & above and (b) TWO YEARS in case of Scientists in
Gr.IV(1), from the date of taking over charge of the post. The probationary period
may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of the Competent Authority. After
successful completion of probationary period, they will be considered for confirmation
in accordance with the extant rules.
14. The selected candidates will not be permitted to apply for appointment elsewhere or
in this Laboratory during the probationary period and if they have already applied for
any posts in any other organization, they may have to intimate the details of such
applications, immediately after joining the Laboratory.
15. The Hard copy of Online Application Registration Form duly signed together with
recent passport size photograph, Application Fee, copies of Matriculation / SSLC /
Degree / Post Graduate Degree / Provisional Degree Certificate(s) and Marks Cards
for all the Semesters / Years, SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XSM certificate and other
testimonials in support of Date of Birth, Qualifications, Experience and Community

16. As the Screening of applications will be done on the basis of information furnished in
the Online application form by the applicants, it is necessary that only accurate, full
and correct information is furnished by the applicants. Furnishing of wrong/false
information will be a disqualification and NAL will NOT be responsible for any of the
consequences of furnishing such wrong/false information. CANDIDATES MAY
REGISTER ONLINE IMMEDIATELY ON SEEING THE ADVERTISEMENT TO
AVOID LAST DAY RUSH/DISAPPOINTMENT.
17. The decision of NAL/CSIR in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection
of applications, mode of selection, conduct of examination/interview will be final and
binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in
this connection from any individual or agency on behalf of the candidate.
18. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be
