QUESTION 2

You are provided with the following; salt, sand, water, beaker, a spatula and a test tube. Perform the following
instructions;

(a) Take one spatula full of salt and put it in the test tube. Followed by one spatula full of sand. Mix the two by
shaking. State what has been formed? [1]

(b) Using a measuring cylinder, measure exactly 5.0cm3 of water and add it to the contents of test tube. Cover
the test tube with your thumb and thoroughly shake it to mix them. Allow the test tube to stand for at least
