    WORK METHOD STATEMENT

    FOR TRAIL TRENCH

    Project Name: Supply & Installation of Fiber Optic Cable

    AADC Contract No: A/11916

    Client: Al Ain Distribution Company

    Contractor: Intelligent Telecommunication Systems

    SCOPE:

    1. This procedure applies to the procedure for making the trial holes.
    2. To provide INSTRUCTIONS regarding, how to carry out the trial holes, before applying the
    construction NOC.

    METHOD OF STATEMENT:

    1. Mobilization
    1.1 Permit from all necessary governing authorities before starting the work.

    1.2 Receive 1 Set of latest “Approved drawings”.

    2. Equipment required
    2.1 Swivel, spades, brushes, plastic sheet, safety cones, warning tapes, Safety gloves, safety helmet, etc.

    3. Safety
    3.1 All site tools and equipments should be kept in a safe area easily accessible for work
    3.2 Hard hats, safety footwear & clothing must be worn at all times.
    3.3 All the members involved in the activity should have to wear reflective jacket to prevent any
    accident, while doing the excavation work.
    3.4 Ensure the safety of the personnel and the equipment throughout the work process.

    4. Workmanship
    4.1 Ensure that:

    a) All activities conform to given requirements / specifications or drawings / sketches;


    b) Accepted practices are followed, neatness and good house-keeping are maintained;
    c) Requirements of these work instructions are complied with.

    5. General

    5.1.1 Organize all the necessary equipment at the site.

    5.1.2 A complete survey of the site location will be done.

    5.2 Trial Hole Procedure

    5.2.1 The works will be carried out by experienced foremen and laborers under the supervision
    of experienced engineers.

    5.2.2 The engineers will brief the personnel involved in the activity before the works Commence. This
    will involve going through the method statement.

    5.2.3 Ensure the availability of Work Permit from all the governing authorities before starting the work.

    5.2.4 With the approved drawings and the indicated areas with coordinates the trial holes to be
    carried out with all safety precautions.

    5.2.5. Only manual excavation will be done in the marked areas and no sharp edged tools will be used.

    5.2.6 The area will be barricaded with safety cones and warning tapes to avoid any hazard.

    5.2.7 The trial hole to be made of sizes 4x0.6x1.2 meters.

    5.2.8 After the trial holes are done, the area will be barricaded with safety cones and warning tapes
    to avoid any hazard.

    5.2.9 The exposed trial holes to be then verified by AADC and all necessary governing authorities for the
    availability of any existing cables and approval to be given for construction NOC accordingly.

    5.2.10. Shop drawing of all existing services shall be amended in the shop drawing and submitted to
    AADC for approval.

    5.2.11. After approval of concern authorities trail trench shall be backfilled to its original.

    5.2.12. Clear site and dispose of all waste materials & debris after the work is complete.

    6. Quality Control

    6.1. Ensure that job is carried out according to this work instruction.

    6.2 Record the details of work done as required in the format.

    7. Demobilization

    7.1 Demobilize all the machinery from the site.

    7.2 After completing the works, clean and clear the site.
