1.0 Purpose
This method statement will give a brief steps which is to be carried to verify the physical
condition and Testing the connections of LVAC Panel

5.0 Procedure
- Ensure all reference documents should be available at site.
- Ensure that valid permits are obtained from concerned authorities wherever applicable.
- Tool box talk will be conducted by the CEP/Site supervisor prior to start of work and
attendance will be recorded.
- Ensure only trained persons shall operate the Testing equipment.
- Ensure to provide proper barricades, caution signage’s before starting the Testing
activities to prevent the entry of unauthorised persons to the work area.
- Ensure all concerned personals shall use PPE and all other items are required.
- Ensure the availability of Calibration certificates for the test kits and measuring device.
- Competent Electrical Person with valid license for receiving LOA will be full time
available at site.
- Ensure to provide uninterrupted power supply for the Testing kit.
- Ensure that the Earthing of Test kit and the equipment where ever necessary.
- Always notify Owners Engineer before performing any activities.
- All Tests shall be carried out for in presence of Engineers.
- Good housekeeping will be always maintained at site.

Mechanical Checks and Visual Inspection:
- Inspect switchgear and all components for any physical damage / defects.
- Check nameplate information for correctness.
- Inspect enclosures for proper alignment, foundation fixing, and grounding & vermin entry.
- Inspect all covers, panels’ section and doors for paintwork and proper fit.
- Check all the transport locks are removed.
- Check for smooth and proper movement of racking mechanisms, shutter, rollers, rails and
guides.
- Check proper alignment of the primary and secondary contacts.
- Check operation of all mechanical interlocks.
- Check tightness of all bolted connections.
- Check for correct phasing connection of bus bar.
- Perform mechanical check and visual inspection for breaker / Contactor as per section.
- Perform mechanical check and visual inspection for instrument transformers as per section
- Perform mechanical check and visual inspection on all disconnect / grounding switches as
per section.

- Measuring of DC resistance by V/I principle.
- Connect the current leads and voltage leads across R-phase.
- Voltage measurement leads should be put inside the current leads.
- Close the Circuit Breaker.
- Switch on the aux. supply to the test kit.
- Contact resistance of main contacts shall be measured by injecting the 100A of DC
Current through the connecting point in each phase (R, Y, and B) one by one.
- The result displayed on the kit shall be recorded.
- Repeat the same test for other phases.

- After supply resumed in incomer-2, Bus coupler CB will trip and incomer-2 CB will
close.
- Check all mechanical and electrical CB functions, alarms and indications.

Relay testing:
- Verify all relays and other accessories are available as per the approved drawings
- Check the earthing of relay and panels.
- Check the tightness of all connections and panel
- Extend the AC&DC auxiliary supplies from the approved MCB/Panels.
- Relay testing includes verification of operation of switching device tripping mechanism
and alarm.
- Protective relays shall be tested and commissioned in accordance with manufactures
instruction.
- All protection relays shall be tested by means of secondary injection at the normal settings
to verify

- Operating parameters.
- Secondary injection of protection relays and instruments.
- All the activities shall be inspected by Engineers and it will be recorded as per Tender /
OES requirements.
7.0 Responsibilities
- Construction Manager is over all responsible for Safety, Quality and Progress of the
Project.
- Testing Engineer shall be responsible for the site testing activities and implementation of
all testing plans.
- HSE Officer will be monitoring all works are being carried out in accordance with the
safety requirements on site.
8.0 Emergency
In case of Emergency,
- Stop the work.
- Turn off the power supply of the Testing kit.
- Alert the nearby workers to reach to the nearest assembly point.

- Don’t get panic and do not run.
- Inform the site HSE officer and other key personnel from the emergency contacts numbers
displayed in the site.
- Call emergency services 9999 if required.
- Supervisor shall make head count and report.

- SAT (Site acceptance test) reports.

- Inspection forms/RFI.
