TASK 2
In recent year mobile phone have not only advanced in technology but also in accessibility to such
extent that even grade school students commonly possess cell phones. If you ask someone whether
grade school students should be allowed to bring phones to school you will encounter different views. In
my opinion, grades school students should not be allowed to bring mobile phones to school as this can
make them less focused and less active and social during school time.

First, the major task to do in school is to attend classes and in order to do this effectively one should be
attentive and focused. However, if student are carrying phones its highly likely they will also use it in
classes during the lectures, which will not only seem insulting towards teacher, as students are not
listening to him, it will also result in loss of their academic learning. I can recall when my younger
brother started taking phone to school his grades plummeted, because he was texting through lectures
and did not concentrated on what teacher was saying.

Second, students that carry phone will use it in break time for playing video games or may be just
watching videos on YouTube instead of playing with friends or socializing with other school mates. I
think that this can seriously damage their physical fitness and social skills. For instance, I recall when I
was in school we keenly looked forward to break time or any free time during classed in order to play
different games or chat with our class fellows. Most of these games included physical work such as
running. However, I am sure if we had phones we would have preferred to play games on them
individually and this would have mot only made us less active but also less social.

Finally, student in schools do not have any critical need of cell phone during school hours. If they need
to contact anyone in emergency they can use phones available in school. If they need to search for
anything on internet they can use the computers available on campus. Most of the schools these days
even have Tablet which can be used by students for learning process.

Thus, I can fairly conclude that grade school students should not bring cell phones to school as there is
no absolute need for it and doing so it will make them inattentive during classes and less active and
social during free hours in school.
Task 2
In today’s world where television industry has flourished by leaps and bound, television has become an
important part of our lives, even children take keep interest in TV. This is the reason advertisement via
television is essential in every marketing campaign. However when it comes to children of age two to
five, if you ask people whether television advertising directed toward children of this age group should
be allowed or not some might say there is no need for it or even that it is not in interest of children. My
opinion is contrary to this, I think that TV commercials for children should be allowed as they can useful
in several ways.

First, TV commercials can be informative and children can learn a lot from them. Kids these days spend a
lot of time on TV and are influenced by characters and shows telecasted on TV. An ethic TV commercial
that emphasizes on good habits along with promoting their product in fun way, may be by singing a
catchy jingle, can help kids to pick up that good habit in a fun way. For example, a simple TV commercial
of Anti-bacterial soap puts a lot of stress on washing hands before every meal. I remember my niece was
got into the habit of washing hands before every meal through one of such advertisement. So in this
way TV Ads can be good for kids.

Secondly, now more than ever we see a lot of TV channels popping up that are specific to for kids of
certain age group. Kids learn a lot from the shows on these channels, for example, their communication
skill can improve, and they can learn art and craft activities. In order for these channels to sustain, they
need sponsors and most of the sponsorships come from brands who want to advertise their products. I
think that to keep things interesting and in benefit of children these channels should only show
commercials specific for targeted age group of children. For instance, imagine how odd it will be to show
an ad of adult products on kid’s channel, parents will probably unsubscribe that channel resulting in loss
for channel. But if the kid’s TV are paired with Ads for kids as well it will be in interest of both parties,
Kids and Kid TV channels.

Finally, some people might argue that certain TV commercials can have negative impact on kids, for
example make them materialistic and pester their parents to buy new stuff all the time or pick a bad
habit, therefore such commercials should be banned. However I think that banning or disallowing these
Ads all together is not the solution because chances of kid getting wrong influence from some kid’s show
are equal as from kids TV commercial. All good TV channels have content control team that analyses the
material to be on-aired they must also regulate the content of TV commercials shown for kids. This
might seem like extra work, but in long run it will pay out, as more parents will opt for channels with kid
friendly advertisement.

In conclusion, I can safely say that after content control, TV advertisement that is directed towards
young children should be allowed as they can be informative and fun and also in helpful in sustaining
kid’s TV channels.
Task 2
It is said that friends are the family we choose ourselves. The questions that whether making a long term
friends will give you more happiness that making many new friends is subjective. I have tried both, long
term few friends and short term many terms, and in my opinion I prefer making a lot of new friends
easily than just having few old friends. Because this way I will always have a good company and it will
also be a great learning experience.

First, if you can make new friends where ever you go and whenever you want, you will always have a
company and you will never feel lonely. You will be able to get close to people in new situation very
easily, like in new school, college or office, even in new country. However, if you only have small
number of longtime friends then it is definitely not possible for you to be with them all the time. For
example, I am a very social person and I always like a company of good friend. When I was in school and
has a lot of friends, but we all went to different colleges. I was very sad initially and felt very lonely, but
after a while I made new friends and for those two years of college I had a lot of fun with them. Then I
went to University and again made new friends, and did same with I went join my first job. In this way I
was able to enjoy my time as I had friends in every phase of my life.

Secondly, making new friends can be a great learning experience. I think everyone in this world is
different and has something unique to offer. Everyone has a different qualities and skill. So the more
you come to know new people, the more you learn and grow as well. However, if you keep a company
just few people they will eventually have nothing new to offer. I remember when I joined my first job, I
become friend with a girl who was fluent in French. I always wanted to learn French language so she
helped me a lot to do so. Therefore, I think new friends can be a great way for a person to grow and
learn new things in fun way.

Thus, it can be concluded that ability of making new friends with ease is far better than just keep few
long term friends, as this one will never feel lonely by doing so and one will also learn a lot from the new
friends.
