Description

Non-oriented, annealed, electrical lamination sheet steel, 0.5 or 0.65 mm thick.

Details
Sheet steel must conform to EN 10106, unless otherwise stated.

APPROVED DOCUMENT
Electrical and magnetic properties
Thickness 0.5 and 0.65 mm
Maximum specific losses of 8 W/kg measured at 1.5T flux density, 50Hz frequency. Normal distribution
Specific total iron loss
of specific loss should be given by standard deviation of 0.33 W/kg or smaller.
Magnetic field intensities of 2.5, 5 and 10 A/mm should result in magnetic flux densities no smaller than
Magnetic flux density
1.62, 1.72 and 1.84 T respectively.
Both sides of sheet steel to be coated. Coating must possess an electrical resistance greater than
Sheet insulation coating 10 Ohms/cm2 per side and be able to withstand continuous temperatures as high as 180 deg C.
Coating should not be damaged by the stamping and welding processes.

Mechanical properties in the longitudinal and transverse directions

Minimum yield strength 285 MPa
Minimum tensile strength 430 MPa
Vickers hardness 150-185 HV
Minimum stacking factor 0.95

The supplier will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical test certificates when requested to do so by CGT’s Quality Department.
Test certificates must contain: reference/coil number, grade, thickness and width, specific losses measured at 1.5 T / 50Hz, flux densities for
2.5, 5 & 10 A/mm, and coating resistance. All measured.
For traceability purposes it is understood that the supplier will carry out periodic checks and hold all results/records for an archive period of
10 years.

Dimensions and tolerances

APPROVED DOCUMENT
Residual curvature: Less than 25mm. Between 25 and 35mm CGT will require a concession from the supplier.

Sheet thickness 0.5 mm +/-0.03mm or 0.65 mm +/-0.04 mm

Roll width Refer to chart drawing.
Edge camber Max. deviation 0.5 mm in 1 m
Wave factor (flatness) Max. Deviation 2%
Roll edge burr Not to exceed 0.05 mm
Thickness range Sheet thickness not to vary by more than 0.02 mm across the coil width, this excluding the outer
40mm portions pertaining to the sides.

Packing & Handling

All coils to be labelled at the start of the coil and the inside bore, as well as externally.
Max roll diameter 1250 mm
Max/min roll weight Based on roll width - refer to chart drawing.

Material should be capable of being processed through lamination punching, notching on progression tools, welding and other manufacturing
processes. We reserve a right to return material which doesn’t go through our process satisfactorily. After three unsuccessful trials CGT will offer
the supplier an opportunity to witness the fault, if requested.
