Synopsis of The Advent of Algorithm.: Houston Seminar in Excel VBA Macros

The document summarizes a synopsis of "The Advent of Algorithm" by David Berlinsky. It discusses how algorithms were pioneered by philosophers and mathematicians like Leibniz in the 17th century and later developed in the mid-20th century by contributions from Gödel and Turing. Programmers who can design algorithms can find solutions to problems and be commercially successful. The document also lists sources in a bibliography for further reading on the topics of algorithms, Excel VBA, and macro programming.

Houston Seminar in Excel VBA Macros

Synopsis of The Advent of Algorithm.

EG, PDG, MSc

August 2020
Algorithms play a crucial role in programming, as they are the codes of instructions directing the
operations made by the computers. Programmers able to design new problem-solving algorithms can
find elusive solutions, and in the meantime hit the jackpot. Logicians and mathematicians that invented
the algorithm paved the way to the transformation of the virtual reality of our world present through
computers and the Internet.

Leibniz, the XVII century German philosopher and scientist, trail blazered the way to the creation of
algorithms, which found its main road in the middle of the XX century with the fundamental
contributions of Gödel and Turing.

David Berlinski wrote this lucid and captivating saga of the human intellect in an amenable way for
readers of any trade.
