Process of Creating My Professional Website

1. I started out at Weebly. I am familiar with Weebly because I have previously used it to

develop a website for my classroom. I chose to use Weebly.

2. Once you log into Weebly you will need to select a domain name. I chose to a name that

was professional and something my students may be able to use in the future if it

becomes my class website. My link is listed below

https://mrcarsonpe.weebly.com/

3. Once you have your domain name then you have the ability to edit the site. The first

thing you will want to do is pick a theme. There are a number of themes to choose from.

I chose a theme that is clean and professional.

4. After finding the theme that fits subject matter the best I clicked on “Pages.” This is

where I created and added pages. The first page I created was “Home.” Then I added”

Print Instruction Material,” “Graphic Instruction Material,” and “Multimedia Instruction

Material.”

5. I then went into each page and added background images. When selecting background

images, you can either use the stock images from Weebly or you can upload your own. I

chose to upload one image from the internet that I have previously used for my Physical

Education class. I used stock images for the rest of the pages, because they had some

great action photos that represent Physical Education.

6. Once I selected that images I went back and added a subtitle to each of the pages. The

subtitle is within the background image. I selected a font and color so people can read

the subtitle.

7. After completing the background and subtitles I went back to the home to add some

personal information. I added what this page was being created for. I also added a bit

about Western Governors University. I inserted a link to WGU’s teachers college page.

8. Finally, after completing all of the pages and going back through to make sure they look

right, you hit the “Publish” button. Once I published, I went into the website to make

sure it looked and worked properly.
