My language biography

My interest in this language started since I was in kindergarten; it was there where I started learning
the language, however it didn’t last long due to going to Elementary school where English wasn’t
taught until I was in 6th grade but it wasn’t useful.
Then at Junior High School the classes were simple: translations, searching words in the dictionary
etc. This didn’t stop me from learning and I started doing it by myself, I used to play, listen to
music, watch tv in english and plenty of activities in order to get acquainted with the language, it
also helped me to imitate native pronunciations, tone of voice and more even though I wouldn’t
understand a lot. I think that was the most helpful thing I could ever done because when I went to
High School the classes were now real ones and they used to be easy for me considering the fact
that I had never studied English formally or in a course, it had been all by myself.
My high-school major was tourism so I used to travel a lot and listening to American people talk
was one of my top encouragements to study it academically. When I finished high school I didn’t
know what to study, I wasn’t into any “major” the only thing I was good at was English and it was
the only thing that would cause me an “interest” therefore I asked my parents to pay me a course
while I wasn’t going to college so that I wouldn’t be without doing anything.
Back in 2017 I officially started studying English in a School ( Quick Learnig) but my interest in
the language was so big that I wanted to perfect all my skills; Speaking,Listening, Writing and
Grammar most of all, I found another school called American English where my Teacher was a
native american lady, that actually helped me face challenges. I went to both of them at the same
time one in the morning the other in the afternoon, doing doubles was my “key” to finish both
courses in just one year and a half. After finishing both of them I applied for TOEFL ceritification
with a B2 result in 2019.
Also, one of the schools I studied in, offered me a job as a junior teacher which is my profession
now but it is not a formal job and I don’t see myself working there for a long time because of the
lack of opportunities, that’s why I decided to study this major now, because I finally found
something I like, I do with passion, and even motivates me to continue growing as a person.
