CONTEXT OF THE PROBLEM

Managing a canteen given the behavior of the student customer


 Learn to cope with the given behavior of a student customer.
 Know how the canteen could handle the management of the
school canteen with different behavior of the customers.
 Unfortunately, attempts to control students behaviors in
school often use punitive approaches such as reprimands,
detention, isolation, extra academic work. (Emily Morecock,
et al)

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


 Most of the students are always on the rush when it comes in
buying food in the cafeteria, so it can’t avoid bumping with
each other in a dense line which often causes chaos in the
canteen.
RESEARCH GAP
 Frederike Mensink, et al. (2012). The environment can exert a
strong influence in peoples food decisions.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY


 To determine the experiences of the school canteen
management in dealing with the behaviors of the student
customers.
 To describe the impact of the behavior of the student in
managing a school canteen.
 To understand how does the management deal with the
impact of the behavior’s of the student customers.
RESEARCH QUESTION
 What are the experiences of the school canteen management
in dealing with the behavior of the student customers?
 Why is it challenging to manage school canteen with student
customers?
 What can be done to address the challenges?

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
 Woodward (1958 et al). Justified their approach by arguing
that effectiveness is the key to a good management and
that’s the key to effectiveness his managerial flexibility.
METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN
 Densin and Lincoln (1994). Discuss that Qualitative Research
is multi method in focus involving interpretive, naturalistic
approach to its subject matter.

RESEARCH SETTING
 The canteen is placed near the school faculty it is usually
crowded most of the time due to the goods they sell.
 It is located in Magsaysay street, Sorsogon City.
SAMPLE AND SAMPLING PROCEDURE
 Canteen staff
 Have 2 to 5 years experience
 Willing to participate in the study

DATA COLLECTION METHOD


 Interview

 Securing a permit from principal and teacher to conduct
interview inside the campus.
 Preparation of letter request for participants.
 Conducting an interview.
 Data will be gathered interpret and analyze by the researcher.
