 Introduction
In this report we will present our company Vation Solutions, a company focused on
simplifying lives through technological solutions, at the same time, contributing to the
development of Dominican society, working to satisfy their needs, interests and demands.
The company was created as a requirement of the English for Engineers course, mainly using
the concepts acquired in the Operations Management unit.

Our latest app – Comelón App

One of our developed and most revealing applications in the online market is Comelón App,
available for devices with Android operating systems. Comelón is focused for people who
usually eat outside home, those users will have the restaurants updated every moment in their
pocket. Comelón, it has everything in its only place, it has a vast number of menus of
registered restaurants, of which you can see its menus by type of food, it has the hours,
telephone, and location of the restaurants, and brings a great benefit; Filter all offers, and
discounts that restaurants offer their customers.
Our big difference is what we have everything in one place, meanwhile users need to reach
profile by profile in Instagram and scrolling down post by post in the Instagram accounts of
the different restaurants; to see the photos of the different dishes or find out about the offers
or view the map to see the location, we have developed Comelón to have all these processes
in one place, because we have understood that time has become the most valued currency.

The inputs we used to develop Comelón APP were the following:

1. Materials: Programming languages and integrated development environments such

as: Visual Studio Code, Javascript as the main language, React Native Framework.

2. Capital equipment: Computers, smartphones, and tablets (with Android operating

system) to develop the app and test it.

3. Labor:
• Computer and Systems Engineers: Responsible for various stages of
application development.
• Industrial Engineers: Responsible for controlling and distributing the
application on the market.

 4. Information: Requirements (Focused on describing what we want the application to
do), information on the different restaurants: such as their menus, location, and
telephone number.

5. Time: 2 weeks of study (market study and requirements engineering), 3 months of

development, 2 weeks to deploy the app and test it.

6. Money: Hardware, software, and effort costs are of utmost importance in cost
analysis. The cost of effort must include the remuneration of employees, the
maintenance of the organization, communication networks. That is why special
attention should be paid to these types of costs at the beginning of the estimation of a
project.

In our case, we had no effort costs, since the human resources of the project were ourselves,
4 incredible engineers and passionate about being part of the digital transformation of the
world. In terms of software costs, there were some requirements that cannot be overlooked,
including:

• Google Play account, one-time fee of US $ 25.

• Web server (US $ 20-US $ 60) / month.

Process
The development of the application began first with an analysis of the idea that we wanted
to develop and a market study, which are part of different methodologies on which the stages
of software development are based, then we used requirements engineering to collect the
requirements for the business solution we want to develop, to ensure that the application
requirements are complete, consistent, and relevant before we start coding. Then the
application was developed using Visual Studio Code as a Text Editor / Integrated
development environment, the main programming language used was Javascript with the
React Native Framework for the mobile application.
The NodeJS Framework was used on the server side to get all the Instagram photos of the
restaurant, and so the app can get the data from this server. We put a lot of emphasis on the
loading time of the application, this is extremely important to us because apps and web pages
tend to get very slow because of the images, to reduce that we decided to optimize the images
so that they weighed less. After we finished developing the app, we carried out several
deployments and tests of the software on different mobile devices with the Android operating
system, because our objective was to launch an app that guarantees and satisfies the necessary
requirements set out at the beginning.

How the project it is related to our careers
From the perspective of computer and systems engineering
This project represents for those of us who study computer and systems engineering
everything we want to do in the future; have an impact on society, develop software that can
help people and improve life. Make life simpler and more optimized.

From the perspective of industrial engineering

For future industrial engineers, this project allowed them to see things differently, not at a
theoretical level, but at a practical level, both from the perspective of the company that works
in the manufacture of a product or service, and from the perspective of customers who want
to feel that they are buying something useful, profitable, that helps them in life. Through this
project they practiced time management, service management and customer care.

 Conclusion
Through the continuous development of this project, we applied not only what we've learned
in our respective careers, but we've also elevated our degree of mastery over the English
language. Nowadays it is more of a necessity to not only have a theoretical understanding of
what we are meant to do once we graduate, but also have the ability to put them into practice.
This has further been elevated by the fact that, our world becomes more connected, and the
old barriers between countries are diminished. Being able to develop a project of this
magnitude in English has made us learn more, and we are very thankful for this opportunity.
