    What to Expect
    Different Components of the Course:
    1. Video Lectures
    2. Quizzes
    3. Live Classes
    4. Textbook
    5. Assignments
    6. Bangla Language Content Videos
    7. Midterm and Final
    8. Labs
    9. Discussion
    10. Honour Code
    Video Lectures
    1. The principal mode of delivery of material will be though video lectures made
    the teaching team.
    2. Each lecture will be segmented into 4 to 6 short videos.
    3. Each video will only cover one topic.
    4. The videos lectures will be made available on a weekly or biweekly basis. They
    will remain available until the end of the course.
    5. If you have internet issues you may want to download the videos to what them
    offline. There are various free downloading software you can use such as:
    Xtreme Downloader, Internet Download Manager, JDownloader etc.
    Quizzes
    There will be two types of quizzes:

    1. Quizzes with participation grade: These quizzes will be in-between the short
    video segments. They are graded but only for participation. They carry 10% of
    the grade.
    2. Graded Quizzes: These quizzes will be clearly marked and will be available for a
    limited time. They will carry 10% of the grade.
    Live Classes
    1. The primary aim of live classes with your section instructor will be for you to ask
    questions about the subject that you don’t understand.
    2. Under certain situations part of the live class will be dedicated to solving
    problems
    3. Attendance is not mandatory for live classes but highly encouraged
    4. A representative of the live class will be recorded and put on buX afterwards so
    that students who could not attend the lesson can also benefit
    5. Being there in the live class is more advantageous than watching a recorded
    session
    Textbook
    1. A comprehensive textbook covering the topics will be provided on a weekly
    basis on the buX platform in PDF format.
    2. The textbook will not be a copy of the video lectures but will be complementary
    to them.
    Assignments
    1. Assignments will be posted on buX on a biweekly basis.
    2. Although you are encouraged to discuss the assignments with each other you
    have to write up your own solutions to the assignments.
    3. Submission of assignments will be through Google forms and will be announced
    in due time.
    4. If evidence of cheating or copying is found in the assignments students may be
    called in for a viva. If they can’t give satisfactory answer both student will be
    given zero on that assignment.
    Bangla Content Video Lectures
    1. Every week one video will be posted which will give an overview of the week’s
    lessons in Bangla
    2. This lecture will not replace the main video lectures but will provide summary of
    the week’s contents
    Midterm and Final
    1. Midterm 20% -- will contain questions from first half of the course
    2. Final 20% -- will contain questions from both parts but with emphasis on the
    second part of the course
    3. The mode of implementation of the midterm and final will be announced later
    Labs
    1. Virtual simulation labs will be implemented for each section from second week.
    2. Lab grade will be participation grade and will be awarded upon submission of
    satisfactory lab report
    Discussion Forum
    1. Students are strongly encouraged use the discussion option in the buX platform
    2. Please use the discussion platform to help each other. Please make the
    learning experience lively and exciting by taking part in the discussions
    3. Some instructors may choose to introduce discussion platform outside buX
    Honour Policy
    Any evidence of cheating will be firmly dealt with in accordance to Brac University
    policy
