Fixed Point Infrared Flammable Gas Detector: Nimbus

The document provides an overview and installation instructions for the Nimbus fixed point infrared flammable gas detector. The Nimbus detects common hydrocarbon gases from 0-100% LEL using dual wavelength infrared absorption. It comprises two main parts, the docking station and IR detector housed in explosion proof marine grade alloy. Installation must be in accordance with standards for zone 1 or 2 hazardous areas and considerations include gas density, potential damage from weather, and sunlight exposure which could cause temperatures over 55°C.

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Product Overview

Nimbus Nimbus is a dual wavelength, fixed point,
infrared gas detector for the detection of
common hydrocarbon gases in the range
0-100% LEL. It is designed for continuous
operation and where speed of response and
Fixed Point Infrared accuracy are essential. Nimbus is powered
by 24 V dc and provides a 4-20 mA signal
(sink or source) proportional to the gas con-
centration. This gas detector is certified
Flammable Gas flameproof and may be fitted in zone 1 or 2
hazardous environments
