UNIT- 1

1. Bring out the necessary elements of consideration with the help of illustrative
examples in each case.
2. Explain the various ways through which a contract can be discharged with the help
of suitable examples.
3. Explain breach of contract. What are the remedies available to the aggrieved party in
case of breach of contract ?
4. What are the essential elements of a valid offer ? Explain, each of them with the help
of some illustrative examples in each case.
5. Define consideration. Which agreements are contracts even without consideration?
Does an agreement become void because consideration is inadequate?
6. What do you mean by ‘capacity of contracts’ ? Who are the various persons
regarded as incompetent by law to enter into the contract.

warranty ?

4. Explain the term delivery and state the rules regarding valid delivery of goods.
5. Who is an unpaid seller? Explain the rights of unpaid seller.

1. Write a note on ‘Bills of Exchange’ While both the cheques and bank drafts are bills
of exchange, what are the main distinguishing features between these two ?
2. Explain ‘holder’ and ‘holder-in-due course’ with suitable examples. What are the
main legal distinguishing features between a ‘holder’ and a ‘holder-in-due course’ ?
3. What is a Negotiable Instrument? Explain its types. What are the parties associated
with the negotiable instruments.
4. What do you understand by dishonour of negotiable instruments? Discuss the
modes and effects of dishonour.

1. Illustrate the rationale behind the information Technology Act, 2000. What are the
powers of Cyber Appellate Tribunal under the Information Technology Act, 2000 ?
2. Which activities can be considered as offence under the information technology act
and what are the penalties thereof in IT Act ?

(b) Procedure for appeal under ‘FEMA’
