Spring 2020 NUST-PNEC

Assignment 01

 Submit by Tuesday, 21 April 2020 – 11:59 PM

 Mail the assignment at [email protected] with “PR Assignment 01 – Name


and Roll Number” in subject line.

 Read the paper “Graph Theoretical Methods for Detecting and Describing Gestalt
Clusters” (Copy Provided).

 Write a summary of the above article with answers to the following questions:

(a) What was the application?

(b) What methods have previously been used to address that application?

(c) What specific problem with previous methods are the authors trying to solve?

(d) What method did they propose?

(e) How did they evaluate their proposal?

(f) Is the improvement statistically significant?

The summary shall be three page, single column, single line spacing, Arial Style,
12 font, without any table, figures. References and any supplemental details be
populated on page 4 as required.

Everybody is expected to write it in their own words. Similarity index shall be less
than 20% and will be checked using Turnitin®
