MIND WEB – This activity will be after you read the text 1 about HEALTH AND FOOD – so
you will have a better understanding of the material and then you will mind mapping starting
with the 2 words ( Healthy and food ) and then you will add more words that goes will this
first one. Just write one word or two. In this moment, you are just taking notes of part of the
topic that is very important, so you will have a better picture of the subject that you will write.
After it is done – we will speak in class what you have written, sharing your thoughts too.

The students will be able to write a paragraph about where they stand towards
Food. Why is food so important to our lives?
Each student will present their project to everyone in class.

Instruct and Model
Teacher will show 3 examples of a writing that the others students have done, and also one of
himself. First Teacher will show your work, read for the whole class what he thinks about this
topic and all his points, opinions, and details about what he eats and why food is so important.
Then the Teacher will also show a good example of a student writing and also a not good
example of a student writing so the students can see what to expect. The bad example will not
have examples, why do they think about this, it will be very short and not much words,
expressions and vocabularies on it.
Pre-Writing Activity
Show the benefits of fruits and vegetables. Learn all their colors and kinds that are good for
us. Help them to see the beauty in a meal, and understand the food is crucial to our lives, so
how we treat our bodies from now on help us now and in the future
At the same time we will discuss about sweets – fast foods – fried foods – industrialized foods,
doing this we will all have clear thoughts about what each one like and why.
Teacher will show 2 different videos related to food so they will see pro and cons and in class
we will discuss what do they think about each video. Which one is more close to their style of
life? What do they like to eat daily? On weekends what do you usually eat? Do you follow a
diet? Do you think food is important for us?
Writing Activity
With all the instructions given – The students will write what do they like to eat and why?
Do you think that eating healthy food is important? What do you normally eat for breakfast,
lunch and dinner?
Post-writing activity
We will all share what we have written, give feedbacks and encourage everyone in class to
keep writing and showing their thoughts about any topic.
