570S

Sports Series
1
The 570S is a McLaren
with unique character.
Astonishing capability.
Engaging agility. And pure
fun on a twisty track, or
the back roads home.
Darren Goddard, Vehicle Line Director - Sports Series

3
The ultimate sportscar drive
The 570S has an incredible power-to-weight ratio. It’s built on a
carbon fibre monocoque ‘chassis’. And comes with a mid-mounted
McLaren V8 engine. Which is all very good to know.

But what this really means is the 570S is a car like no other.
A machine that puts you centre stage in one of the most thrilling
driving experiences out there. One that lets you push, hone,
tweak and refine your skills behind the wheel.

Any day. All day. Every day. The 570S delivers.

And keeps you coming back for more.

5
In pursuit of better
For us, it always starts with a question. How can we do something –
but do it better than ever before?

We started racing over 50 years ago and have pushed the boundaries
of better ever since. This thinking is what makes a McLaren a McLaren.
And it’s what makes our Sports Series cars so special.

Supercar DNA. Passion for performance. Endless commitment

to innovation. The McLaren Sports Series brings our advanced
motorsport and road car technologies to the sports car category.

These are high-performance machines that pull no punches… yet

are also perfectly honed for the road. Tuned for the track… yet ready
for the daily commute. Unquestionably thrilling… yet well-mannered
when they need to be.

7
Nature. Nurtured.
Look at nature. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is superfluous. The same is
true of the 570S exterior… a shape inspired by the elements. Everything
is there for a reason. So while it may be beautiful, it is purely the result
of uncompromising design focused entirely on aerodynamics and
performance.

So, by all means, admire the exposed engine and venting inside the rear
lights. But bear in mind they exist to help remove heat. And wonder,
if you will, at the intricate design of the doors with their distinctive
‘floating’ tendons. Or at the sweeping lines that run the length of the
roof, for that matter. But know that they’re all about optimising airflow
and boosting downforce.

Nothing about the 570S is un-beautiful. But everything is there for a

very good – very functional – reason.

9
The invisible power
Aerodynamics and automotive engineering. It’s a complex relationship.
Left to its own devices, airflow can be the enemy. Slowing a car down
and affecting handling. But manipulated in the right way? That’s when
you unlock new heights in performance.

And with the 570S, that’s exactly what we did – with advanced carbon
fibre aerodynamic features that pin the car to the road. For more speed.
And more control.

There’s the extended front splitter, for example. A piercing arrow that helps
drive down the nose of the 570S. Not to mention the additional strakes on
the rear diffuser that guide and control airflow in the car’s wake.

Then there are the dramatic flying buttresses that allow air to flow into
areas of low pressure created by the convex roof. This equalises the
forces at play, and helps add up to 8kg of downforce.

11
A pioneering foundation
While the exterior of the 570S is extraordinary. What lies beneath is no
less surprising. Built on a carbon fibre monocoque ‘tub’ (or MonoCell II as
we call it) the chassis draws its design directly from our racing heritage.

We introduced this technology to Formula 1™. And we were also the

first car marque to use it in a road car. It’s lighter and more rigid than
steel or aluminium. And a completely different way of building a car.
The result? A machine that isn’t just super strong. But incredibly
responsive and agile too.

At just 75kg, it’s fundamental to how we made the 570S the lightest
in its class. And paired with a ferocious engine, it helps deliver an
unparalleled power-to-weight ratio that adds up to bigger punch...
bigger bite…

and a bigger grin on every drive.

13
Going your way
Lots of things can change when driving. The weather. The road type or
condition. Even your mood. Which is why the 570S is ready for anything.

Using the Active Dynamic Panel in the cockpit, you can choose from
Normal, Sport and Track modes. Instantly, the 570S adaptive dampers
come alive. Intelligently adjusting the firmness of the car’s suspension
to suit whatever surface you’re tackling.

But that’s not where the evolution ends. As you rise through each mode,
you’ll gain faster gear changes. And more responsive acceleration.
Pick Normal for day-to-day driving. Sport to up the ante. And Track for
those days you want maximum performance.

Every option is backed up by Electronic Stability Control (ESC) – giving

you optimum handling in all conditions. And for even greater control,
just flick to the Dynamic ESC setting in Sport and Track modes.

So you can enjoy a smoother ride when you want it. And a wilder one
when you don’t.

15
What we’ve achieved
is the perfect balance Let loose
between performance Of course, the tale of the 570S performance doesn’t end there. A
race-inspired 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 McLaren engine propels
and practicality. So you this feather-light car from nothing to 60mph in 3.1 seconds. It gets to 120
mph faster than anything in its class. And to a scorching top speed of 204
get everyday comfort, mph. It’s also mid-mounted – helping to create a perfectly balanced drive.

yet immense agility and Our latest engine design features new air intakes. New fuel injectors.

engagement when the New turbochargers. All feeding a new stainless steel exhaust system
designed to maximise power output. Needless to say, it’s an impressive

road opens up. beast. And with a selectable stop-start system, it’s even got city driving
wrapped up too.

17
Feel it more
At McLaren, we think you should experience driving a real car. Not a
computer. That’s why each technological development on the 570S
is designed with a simple purpose. To put you at the heart of
the journey.

Every twist and tweak

Our electro-hydraulic steering system puts you in control like nothing
else. With a high steering ratio, the 570S offers a more responsive
feel on every drive. For an unrivalled connection to the road.

Razor-sharp brakes
The confidence to push limits starts with having supreme confidence
in your stopping power. Inspired by Formula 1TM, the 570S comes with
carbon-ceramic brakes that are much less susceptible to fade when
the heat is on.

Raise your game

Lap times. Acceleration data. Onboard video. The optional McLaren
Track Telemetry records it all. And it’s right at your fingertips in the
cockpit. Think of it as your own personal race engineer.
Helping you achieve your best. Then better it.

19
Inside out
Everything for a reason. For us, this isn’t just a fancy strapline.
It’s a design philosophy we live by. A mantra. An obsession. And
we apply it just as rigorously to the inside of our cars as the
outside. So when you slide into a 570S you’ll find a pared-back
environment. Comfortable, yes. Luxurious, certainly. But also
minimal and ultimately usable. So nothing draws your attention
away from the experience – and fun – of driving.

Of course, you’ll probably want to make the environment your

own. That’s why we offer a huge range of colour schemes,
finishes and bespoke options. A few ideas to whet your
appetite… Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Carbon fibre
Interior Upgrade Pack. Nappa Alcantara® interior.

Or you can let us do the hard work and opt for one of ten
special interiors tailored by McLaren designers. Our hand-built
approach and devotion to quality shows in every curve, line
and stitch of the 570S interior.

21
An everyday joy
Make no mistake. The 570S is an out-and-out supercar. It also
just happens to be very usable. Alongside the different driving
modes, we’ve built in a host of features that make it ideal for
day-to-day driving.

For instance, it’s got a boot (in the front) that provides 150 litres
of storage. A Nose Lift system to take the car smoothly over
obstructions (no more grinding speed bumps). And inside, there’s
a 7” touchscreen that makes controlling the settings a cinch.

The Dihedral Doors may turn heads. But they exist to make it easier
to get in and out of the car. As do the optional Power Sports Seats
and Power Adjust Steering Column. But don’t worry. When the
time comes to switch from road to racetrack, the optional McLaren
Track Telemetry is there to log every millisecond. So now you have
no excuses.

23
Bordering on obsession
Precision. It flows through every aspect of our cars. And every element
of the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) in Woking, England. Here,
each 570S is hand-assembled right alongside our Super and Ultimate
Series cars. And right next door to our Formula 1™ racing cars.

Meticulous precision is our standard. That’s why we use Advanced

Coordinate Measuring machines. Testing each bodyshell to ensure
consistency within 50 microns. Or the width of the average human hair,
in case you were wondering.

It’s a tranquil environment here at MTC. Where creativity and excellence

thrive. These are attitudes shared by all our engineers, designers and
production teams. And they are qualities that run through every detail
of each car we make.

25
The art of the possible

27
Own it
Buying and owning a McLaren is a special thing. And you might want
to make it even more special by adding the personal touch. We offer
a huge range of personalisation and enhancement options. For looks.
Performance. And comfort. Choose your ideal colour combination,
inside and out. Opt for performance boosters with lighter wheels and
carbon fibre exterior touches.

Or go all the way and talk to the McLaren Special Operations team
(MSO). Then choose from almost limitless possibilities to make your
car a true one-off. Start with a blank sheet of paper. We’ll work with
you to craft your vision into a reality. As long as it’s road-legal, the
sky’s the limit.

29
Care and attention
Let’s face it. A McLaren is no ordinary car. So you’ll probably want to
give it extraordinary levels of care. Fortunately, our Retailers offer a
unique service. In fact, they apply the same meticulous standards to
maintaining McLaren cars that we use to build them, here at MTC.

They know full well you bought a 570S to drive it. So they’ll always
aim to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. Which is why
they offer flexible servicing and genuine McLaren parts.

The 570S needs to be serviced every 10,000 miles (15,000km) or

after 12 months if that comes sooner. Every new McLaren is covered
by our 36-month warranty and, in most areas, McLaren Roadside
Assistance. In certain markets, you can also choose to extend your
standard warranty for even greater peace of mind. Helping you and
your 570S enjoy a very long, very happy relationship.

31
It’s a lifestyle thing
Owning a McLaren is a bit different. It’s about more than just having a
car that you love driving. It opens up the chance to interact with our
team and other McLaren owners. And to be part of a club of like-minded
enthusiasts. That’s because we offer driving and lifestyle events right
across the globe… from the challenging to the chilled.

Hone your skills on the world’s most iconic racing circuits. Get some
slide time driving on ice. Or go for the more leisurely approach and join
one of our scenic driving tours. And, of course, you’ll have the chance to
experience VIP hospitality at selected world-class motorsport events.
