THEME: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION - INTERNET OF THINGS (IoT) IN AIR CONDITIONING
AND INDUSTRIAL REFRIGERATION
 

 
Purpose of the assignment
 
The purpose of this assignment is for you and your team to explore the use of digital
technologies, Internet of Things (IoT) in Air conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration. This will
help to show how technology can transform industries especially related to air conditioning and
Industrial Refrigeration.
 
Therefore, the emphasis of your assignment should be on two aspects: (1) understand
how Digital Transformation can create a value added to air conditioning and industrial
refrigeration, and (2) describe how it will affect the existing Air conditioning and industrial
refrigeration industry in Malaysia.
 
 
Report guidelines
 
Your written report should be no more than 7 pages long (excluding cover sheet and appendix).
 
Please use the following guide of the content four your report:
 
1.    Cover sheet (1 page) showing: Full name of all authors
Title name.
 
2.     Existing situation. Description of the current practice of Air conditioning and Industrial
Refrigeration industry, in Malaysia.
 
3.     Traditional practice model versus new practice model. Clearly describe how technology, and
IoT in particular, can help in new ways to improve Air conditioning and Industrial refrigeration
system.
 
4.     How customers and industries change due to this technology transformation. Who is driving
transformation (customers, regulatory, competition?)
 
5.     Example of application of IoT in Air conditioning and Industrial Refrigeration.

Tujuan tugasan ini adalah untuk anda dan pasukan


anda untuk meneroka penggunaan teknologi digital,
Internet of Things (IoT) dalam Penyaman Udara dan
Penyejukan Industri. Ini akan membantu
menunjukkan bagaimana teknologi dapat mengubah
industri terutama yang berkaitan dengan penyaman
udara dan Penyejukan Industri.

Oleh itu, penekanan tugas anda harus pada dua


aspek:
(1) memahami bagaimana Transformasi Digital dapat
mewujudkan nilai tambah pada penyaman udara dan
penyejukan industri, dan

(2) menerangkan bagaimana ia akan mempengaruhi


industri penyejuk udara dan penyejukan industri
yang ada di Malaysia.
Garis panduan laporan

Laporan bertulis anda tidak boleh lebih dari 7


halaman (tidak termasuk muka depan dan lampiran).

Sila gunakan panduan kandungan berikut empat


laporan anda:

1. Lembaran penutup (1 halaman) menunjukkan:


Nama penuh semua pengarang

Nama tajuk.

2. Keadaan yang ada. Penerangan mengenai amalan


semasa industri Penyaman Udara dan Penyejukan
Industri, di Malaysia.
3. Model amalan tradisional berbanding model
amalan baru. Terangkan dengan jelas bagaimana
teknologi, dan IoT khususnya, dapat membantu
dengan cara baru untuk memperbaiki sistem
penyejukan udara dan penyejukan industri.

4. Bagaimana pelanggan dan industri berubah kerana


transformasi teknologi ini. Siapa yang mendorong
transformasi (pelanggan, peraturan, persaingan?)

5. Contoh penerapan IoT dalam Penyaman Udara dan


Penyejukan Industri.
