    The engine of an excavator suddenly stopped and would not restart. The technician inspected the machine and changed parts but could not resolve the issue. Testing found the common rail pressure sensor was providing an abnormal voltage of 0.94V. Replacing the supply pump resolved the problem, which was determined to be an electrical or mechanical fault in the pressure sensor or related systems.

    Symptom

    The machine was suddenly stop, then the engine can’t start, But not error

    History

    No

    Cause & analysis

    Inspected the machine. Disappeared the error. So changed the engine wire harness from another machine.
    But not ok. Then dismounted the pressure limiter valve. Started the machine. It was not return the fuel. This
    value was normal. Then checked the common rail pressure sensor feed back voltage. This voltage was
    0.94V. It was abnormal. So changed the supply pump. This problem was ok.

    Action

    This problem can be happen, electrical fault and mechanical fault.
