How relevant and applicable were the course The course contents were extremely relevant and
contents in helping you enhance your applicable in enhancing my competencies as 21st
competencies as 21st Century teacher? century teacher since it tackled all the necessary
skills, attitude and values that we need to
possess to face the challenges we may
encounter. The course provided me significant
learning on four pillars of learning which I deeply
understood as applicable or basic to survive in
this new century. It answered the many “WHYs”
in my mind. It gave me clarification why
sometimes learners cannot accumulate learning
even if I did my best, why learners misbehaved in
class and why they seemed to be uninterested to
listen despite all my deep preparations in
teaching.
The course content gave me a clearer view. It
reminded me that we are dealing with diverse
learners. Thus, it taught us to be knowledgeable
of the different teaching styles and strategies and
select what suits best in teaching particular group
students.
It imparted us the appropriate attitude of a
teacher, the behavior of enthusiastic teacher and
how to become flexible teacher which are
incredibly helpful in becoming competent,
effective and productive teacher.
What significant learning insights did you gain This course made me reflect and assess myself. I
from the course? realized that I’m a little bit behind from new trends
of teaching. Though, I usually incorporate
technology in teaching but there are more things I
need to learn and apply to become totally ready
to face 21st century challenge.
This course made me fully understood the
concept of diverse learners. That as teacher, we
must be sensitive to our learners and must know
their background such as; cultural orientation,
beliefs, economic status, family upbringing,
strength and weaknesses, learning needs and
etc. so we will know how to deal with them and
can address their learning needs.
Moreover, the course enlightened me how 21 st
century classroom environment, classroom
management, learner’s need, learning styles and
teacher’s strategy differ from past decade. And
how to deal with these differences.

What challenges or difficulties did you The challenges I encountered during the course
experience during the course? were the time pressure and power interruption. I
could hardly forget how terribly stressed I was
during our first session. One hour before the
session, there was a power interruption in the
whole town (Malaybalay City), so I immediately
changed clothes and went to the neighboring city
( Valencia City) that took me an hour of travel so I
can join chat session. I was late during the first
session, so I was a little bit nervous and felt
shaky. I was so excited for the coming session.
Hence, I always read the modules during my
vacant hour. However, in making all the
assignments and requirements, I was pressured
because of time conflict. There were various
school activities, master’s degree requirements
and school year end requirements that need to be
complied.
What areas related to 21st Century teaching There were various areas related to 21st century
and learning do you still need to improve on teaching that I still need to improve. Though, I
and why? was in service for 3 years and attended enormous
trainings on how become effective teacher, yet
this course made me realized that I am not equip
enough with necessary skills, knowledge and
values needed to survive in new century. I need
to enhance my previously learned skills and must
possess with new skills required. Particularly, the
skills in using multimedia/ technology tools for we
all know that 21st century learners are technology-
focused. I need to be knowledgeable of different
strategies that can cater the needs of diverse
learners and strategies that can develop higher
order thinking skills of the learners and that can
elicit active learning.
In addition, I need more focus on classroom
management; I strongly believed that I am weak
in this aspect. I need to learn more how to have a
strong classroom management for I know that it is
a foundation of a smooth running classroom.

What can you say about your overall The overall experience in taking this course is
experience (i.e. comment on chat, forum, worth reminiscing. Discussion during chat
course requirements, FLT competency, and sessions and forum were interesting and
the online modality)? informative. I greatly enjoyed the overall sessions.
I love sharing my own opinion and open and
learning from ideas of my fellow flexible learners
and tutor.
Hearing the teaching experiences of my fellow
learners made me realized that typically we
teachers experienced same scenario, confronted
with similar problems but have different approach
in dealing those identified problem. The class
conversations, guided me how to effectively act
when indulge in same classroom problems in the
future.
I love and cherish all the learning experiences I
got from this course. If given an opportunity to
proceed to course2, I would never hesitate to
enroll again.
What are your other comments / suggestions I am contented with the content coverage of the
for improving the content coverage and future course. But if given opportunity to suggest, I think
course deliveries? it would be better if the course is divided into 6
chat sessions instead of four because teachers
are typically busy and sometimes cannot read
thoroughly some topics for a certain session
because it is to lengthy. Hence, if it is divided into
6 sessions, topic coverage will be shortened.
Therefore, it can be more elaborated and more
real experiences of flexible learners connected to
the topic can be shared.
