Distance Learning, online learning, or Blended Learning whatever we call it… it is the
new normal in learning or teaching-learning procedures. A new era of teaching and learning is
redefining the delivery of instruction at Baloling Elementary School, Mapandan, Pangasinan.
Teachers and students must harness the power of digital technology by tapping DepEd commons,
Zoom, Social media, videos, graphics and animation to deliver information and continue
delivering the teaching-learning process online learning management system platform of the
school.  With more than half of the teacher population using Blackboard to deliver content and
perform assessments, blended learning has now become the new norm.

Blended learning is an approach to education that combines face-to-face and online

learning.  Recent studies prove that blended learning is more superior to traditional methods in
delivering specific course outcomes

With this approach as being promoted by the DepEd. Its effectivity lies on the readiness
and capabilities of the learners to adapt this new norm in learning.

The question when it comes to grade 2 learners, as with every other grade levels, are they
ready?

Ready in the sense that they could follow instructions online or is valid with the same
question as can they read and comprehend by themselves that they can already learn online? Do
they have the gadgets and internet connectivity which is fast enough to play videos, animations
audios anytime of the day? Are their parents also capable to adapt to these new norms in
learning? Are their homes environment friendly enough for them to learn effectively?

These questions are valid and real that condenses to sa question Are Grade 2 learners
ready?
