pertaining to water solutions and marketing.
Company Profile –
As one of the leading companies in the field of water treatment we have been specialising in the design,
production and assembly of treatment systems for process and wastewater for more than 100 years. A
number of well-established companies in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry rank amongst our clients.
The focus of our production program in the field of process water treatment is ultrapure water production for
the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industry, boiler feed water treatment in power stations and other
industrial applications as well as beverage and brew water production.
Within the AQUATECH in Stuttgart is the competence centre for ultrapure water production in the
pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry. As you may learn from the enclosed reference list we have
manufactured plants with capacities ranging from 0.5 to 200 m³/h, the design of which correspond to
pharmaceutical standard. We have realised many of these plants as general supplier, our service also
comprising storage and distribution of the purified water, plant qualification, plant validation by the client
with subsequent FDA acceptance.
Due to an extensive research and development program and the vast experience gained in a number of
applications, we can rely on a comprehensive know-how. We are specialised in a variety of advanced
treatment processes. Our plants for producing purified water are operating on the principles of well-proven
membrane technologies such as reverse osmosis and Ultrafiltration without requiring the addition of
chemicals. Furthermore we have commercialised new membrane processes such as membrane degasification
and electrochemical deionisation (EDI) for industrial applications.
We can offer you a service comprising planning, order processing, plant construction, erection and commis-
sioning. Every individual project is supervised by a project manager who will be your competent contact
person. All this ensures highest efficiency and dynamic adaptation to the client's demands.

Treatment systems for the pharmaceutical industry are designed and realised by a team of design and
construction engineers having the required experience in the specific technical requirements in
pharmaceutical industry as well as in plant qualification and validation. In our in-house workshop we have
employed qualified welder for processing high-quality materials such as stainless steel and high-purity plastics
such as PP and PVDF.
For the manufacture of systems in pharmaceutical standard we have a class 100 clean room as well as the
relevant tools such as orbital welding machines, measuring devices for checking the quality of welding seams
(i.e. endoscope, content of ferrite, surface roughness), pipe bending machine for stainless steel pipes and
infrared welding machines for processing plastics of highest purity - to mentioned only a few.
A comprehensive after-sales service with maintenance contracts and spare parts quotations is also part of our
production line. In Jordan our after-sales service is ensured by an area-wide service network and world wide
by our supra-regionally active specialists.

Qualification and Documentation :
We have gained extensive experience in the qualification of water treatment plants for Purified water, Highly
purified water, Water for injection and distribution systems. On basis of this expert knowledge we have
worked out documentation templates for protocols, reports and SOP’s for IQ and OQ. These documents are
proved and tested at similar projects and well suited for water plants. The test scope is based on our risk
analysis. The qualifications steps IQ and OQ are coherent .
The prepared papers are in conformity with FDA and European organisations and based on the following
documents:
 Current good manufacturing practice in manufacturing, process or holding of drugs / Current good
manufacturing practice for finished pharmaceuticals (FDA, 21 CFR, CH. I, Parts 210, 211, current issue)
 Guide to manufacturing practice for Medicinal Products (EEC/ EU, current issue)
This enables us to perform a qualification in conformity with both the client's specification and our own
standards.
Please find below a detailed description of the qualification and documentation procedures in our standard
included in our scope of quotation.
Our qualification work is based on the documents rendered by the client. These documents are master
qualification plan, risk analysis, User Requirement Specification URS, which describes the technical design of
the system. If a revision of the documents provided by the client has to be worked out, we are surely willing to
submit you a corresponding separate quotation.
The qualification ensures at the actual / nominal comparison that the effectively realised system matches the
before mentioned documents.

Installation Qualification (IQ)

The Installation Qualification (IQ) ensures that all plant components and systems were delivered and installed
in conformity with the reviewed and approved planning documents, specifications and standards.
The IQ protocol defined the way of execution for the Installation Qualification and which arrangements has to
be done to qualify plant components and systems in accordance to the protocol.
The standard operating procedures (SOP) listed below

are part of our IQ:
 Inspection of documents:
- Material certificates 3.1
- Material certificates 2.2 for surface - finish
Certificate on FDA conformity
- Factory calibration certificate for quality relevant
instruments
- Welding documentation
- Operating and maintenance manual of
components
 Inspection of completeness compared with
P&ID’s and components list
 Mechanical inspection (installation, accessibility, 3-d rule, slope,
possibility of draining) compared with P&ID’s and layout drawings
 Quality assurance on welding seams (as per SOP)
 Inspection for tightness and hydraulic test (as per SOP)
 Work’s test of control panel at manufacturer
 Hardware registration
 Software registration
For documenting the inspections carried out, the client will receive
an installation qualification plan and report.
Operation Qualification (OQ)

The following inspections listed below are part of our OQ:
 Inspection of as-built plant documentation for completeness(maintenance plan of
system)
 Inspection of media(raw water, pressured air, regeneration salt, steam, etc.)
 Inspection of filters and membrane elements(RO, EDI, UF)

 For Hot water sanitisable plants:Inspection of sanitisation
 Line test (I-O check)
 Test of motor speed direction
 Test of access and limit
 Software simulation (plant is not connected)
– Comparison with function description
 Software test (plant is connected)
– Comparison with function description
 Password test
 Disaster test (power cut, loss of pressured air, restart performance)
 Documentation of operators training
 On Option: On-site calibration of quality relevant instruments as per SOP
For documenting the inspections carried out, the
client will receive an operation qualification protocol and report.
Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

Complete functional test of the system at test stand prior to the delivery.
All functions and installations are done during FAT as far as possible. Those FAT-
checks are then referenced in IQ and OQ. During IQ and OQ on site only those checks
are performed which could either not be done during FAT for technical reasons or
which concern particular parts of the plant detached for transportation after FAT.
Participation of clients personnel is possible within one day. Should longer period be
required, the costs incurred will be invoiced you on documented evidence. Tests
realized by ATS will be repeated pass-pointlike at presence of clients personnel.
Plant Documentation
The documentation comprises the documents listed below and will be prepared for plant
components supplied by us acc. to our standard in English using the metric system. The
adaptation to national language will be done by client.
