 Abstract

Unique ID Management system is a project developed to provide the

information about the citizen of India. The information can be found by
the unique id of the citizen. Unique ID contains 12 digit ID which is
Unique for each & every citizen of India. It will Uniquely identify each &
everyone. In this Unique ID Management system all the transactions
based on the ID will be performed by the citizen.

 1. Introduction
Design Thinking and its importance:
➢ Design engineering is the creative process of identifying needs
and then devising a solution to fill those needs.

➢ This solution may be a product, a technique, a structure, a

project, a method, or many other things depending on the
problem.

➢ The general procedure for completing a good engineering

design can be called the engineering method of creative
problem solving.

➢ The nature of problems that engineers must solve varies

between and among the various branches of engineering.

➢ Because of the diversity of problems there is no universal list of

procedures that will fit every problem.

➢ Not every engineer uses the same steps in their design

process, but this is a common list, which includes most of the
steps of the design method that engineers use:

1. Identifying the Problem.

2. Gathering Needed Information.

3. Searching For Creative Solutions.

4. Overcoming Obstacles to Creative Thinking.

5. Moving From Ideas to Preliminary Designs (Including

Modeling).

 1.1 Project Summary

1. In this project we are going to prepare a platform which will help

every citizen of India to create a Unique ID for them.

2. In today’s scenario there are so many ID Cards needed for various

needs of the citizen.

3. So in this project we will create the ID card which will connect all
IDs of citizen such as Pastport,License,Pancard,Voter ID card etc.

4. It contains 12 digit Unique ID for every citizen.

 2. Scope

▪The scope of this project is to give citizen easy access of all their IDs
by using this 12 digit Unique ID.

▪It contains all the biometric information so it’s not possible that
somebody will make any fake ID of others name.

▪It also having the fingerprints & photo of the ID user so at the time of
using of it authorised person can cross check the information.

 6. Conclusion

A Unique ID (UID) can be generated to each and every citizen of India

while they register into the site.
Citizens after attaining an age of 18 years can only be registered and
get a password to access the site & also Driving license site access.
Unique ID will be provided to every user after registration.
Once they enter into site, they can pay their electricity bill, telephone
bill, gas bill, book railway tickets and airline tickets and can apply for
the passport, visa, etc.
A common man can directly interact with the system by making it
habituated so that so called cheatings can be avoid.
Justification can be done to everyone in positive manner.
The country can have the valid details about its citizens.
Proxy and redundant details can be reduced

 7. Future Work

Unique ID based Direct Benefit Transfer (LPG Subsidy) :

The 12 digit individual identification number on Unique ID is used
to get LPG subsidy amount directly in the bank account. This
DBTL scheme is named as PAHAL. To get this benefit you need
to visit your area’s distributor and get Unique ID linked to the 17
digit LPG consumer number. Although now you can get direct
benefit transfer by linking bank account to the LPG number.

Jan Dhan Yojana : Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)

accepts Unique ID as the only document sufficient to open the
bank account. Although you can open PMJDY account after
producing other documents as well. The benefits offered are
RuPay card, free zero balance savings account, life and accident
insurance and many others.

Passport in 10 days : This benefit of Unique ID will relieve you the most!
If you have Unique ID then you can get passport in just 10 days. Under
this format, police verification will be done at a later date as opposed to
the previous rule requiring police verification which used to be time
consuming. Also under the new government’s rule, if you need a
passport, Unique ID is compulsory.

Digital Locker : Government of India has launched digital locker

(DigiLocker) system for everyone for storing all personal document
on the government’s server. And sign-up process for DigiLocker
requires person to link his/her 12 digit Unique ID.

Voter Card Linking : After starting over project , Unique ID has

been linked to the voter ID’s. This action is taken to eliminate
bogus voters. Once Unique ID is linked, it would become
impossible for a voter to have multiple voter ID cards. It's illegal
use is also curbed, as registration requires voter ID card holder to
be physically present and produce Unique ID to the polling booth
officer for linking.

Monthly Pension : All the pensioners from select states will now have
to register their Unique ID to their respective department in order to
receive monthly pension. This move was initiated to avoid fraudulent
incidents of fake beneficiaries.

Opening new bank account : Unique ID letter provided by UIDAI is

now acceptable by banks as a valid proof to open bank account. In
fact, it can serve both as an address and identity proof, hence avoiding
the need to produce bunch of documents to the banks for opening an
account.

Mobile number : All existing mobile subscribers (prepaid and

postpaid) are required to link Unique ID to their mobile number. All
new connections will require Unique ID Linking.

Driving license : To make Unique ID, a digital identity, very soon

driving license is planned to be linked Unique ID. The objective of
doing this is to check prevalence of multiple license.

PAN card and IT return: This is considered to be the best step to

curb black money. Linking of PAN card with Unique ID has been made
mandatory.

Investments : Submitting Unique ID to financial institutions is

mandatory where you are doing mutual fund and other investments.

Existing bank account holders : Account holders are to provide

Unique ID to the banks where they hold account six months from the
date of commencement of bank account.
