DESCRIPTIONS 3: APPEARANCE

En la lengua, los adjetivos son las palabras encargadas de describir objetos o personas.
Ya hemos utilizado en este tema algunos adjetivos cuando describíamos el pelo o los
ojos de personas. Ahora vamos a ver más adjetivos que nos pueden servir para describir
a personas.

tall - short fat – thin

old – young slow - fast

Vamos a ver ahora cómo se usan los adjetivos en inglés.

This man is old. He is an old man


Este hombre es viejo. Es un hombre viejo

This man is fast. He is a fast man


Este hombre es rápido. Es un hombre rápido.

This car is slow. It’s a slow car


Este coche es lento. Es un coche lento

Como podemos ver en los ejemplos, los adjetivos pueden aparecer detrás del verbo ser o
junto a un sustantivo. Cuando aparecen junto a un sustantivo, están delante de éste,
nunca detrás.

Además, los adjetivos en inglés no tienen género ni número, como puedes ver en estos
ejemplos:
