Overview
The following procedures describe how to connect the side-mounted UR-V enhanced front
panel to a vertical UR-series device.

Dimensions
There are two cutouts required to attach the UR-V enhanced front panel and the vertical
UR-series device (V unit).

Procedures
Attaching the UR-V The procedure to attach the UR-V enhanced front panel to the customer panel is as

2. Using four #8-32 × ¼” screws (part number 1418-0107), attach the mount bracket
(part number 1001-0042) the bottom of the chassis (tightening torque 17lb.-in).

3. Plug the RJ45 cable into the RJ45 connector on the CPU unit.
4. Plug the ground cable from the UR-series device to the ground clip on the cover.

5. Using two #8-32 × ¼” screws (part number 1412-0015) and two lock washers (part
number 1435-0002), attach the assembled side-mount cover to the top of the chassis
as shown (tightening torque 17lb.-in.

6. Using two #8-32 × ¼” screws (part number 1412-0015) and two lock washers (part
number 1435-0002), attach the assembled front panel cover to the bottom of the
chassis as shown (tightening torque 17lb.-in.

Attaching the vertical The third step is to attach the vertical UR-series device to the customer panel.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

Electrical connections The final step in connecting the side-mounted UR-V enhanced front panel to a vertical UR-
series device is to complete the electrical connections.
1. Connect one end of the RJ45 cable (part number 0804-0177) to the UR-series device
as shown below.
2. Connect one end of the ground cable (part number 0804-0178) to the UR-series device
as shown below.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

3. Connect the other end of the ground cable through the cutout on the panel and
attach to the rear of the UR-V enhanced front panel as shown below.

4. Connect the other end of the RJ45 cable to the RJ45 cable on the UR-V front panel
with the RJ45 straight-through coupler (part number 1104-0259) as shown below.

COMPLETED INSTALLATION

Completed When complete, the UR-V enhanced front panel is connected a vertical UR-series device as
installation shown below.
