General Information
In the web site www.oferta.uevora.pt we provide all the information about the study programs
offered by the University of Évora, namely, program duration, vacancies, study plan, access
conditions, tuition fees, and so on.
Program Dates
We advise you to apply in the first phase, as you will have more time to get your visa and prepare
your trip, in case you are admitted. Moreover, the second phase may not open if vacancies are
filled in the first phase.
The application is made on-line, at https://siiue.uevora.pt. There are two support guides to
facilitate the entire application process: Candidate Registration Guide (registration to obtain a
password that gives you access to the platform for submission of the application) and the Online
Application Guide for International Student.
In the academic year 2019/2020, classes start on September 16, 2019. The classes’ schedules of
the undergraduate programs will be available by the end of July.
In the masters and doctoral programs the Applications Call, available on www.oferta.uevora .pt,
indicate the days of the week when classes take place.
• What is the end date for this program?
The academic year (which includes classes and evaluation periods) starts in September and ends
in July of the following year. The Fall semester, starts on the 16th of September, 2019 and ends
on the 1st of February, 2020. The Spring semester starts on the 10 th of February, 2020 and ends
on the 2nd of July 2, 2020.
The University of Évora has an annual tuition fee of 2,500 euros for international students.
However, the University of Évora offers Scholarships for International Students that aim to
facilitate the access of international students to the study programs offered by the University.
These scholarships translate into a reduction of the tuition fee paid by the students. There are
two types of scholarships:
1. Merit Scholarships - all international students receive the merit scholarship in the first
year if:
a. In 1st cycle (undergraduate) programs, if they have an access average grade of
14 or higher;
b. In 2nd cycle (master) progam, if they have an undergraduate average grade of
16 or higher;
c. In the 3rd cycle (PhD programs), if they have a weighted average of the
undergraduate degree grade (75%) and a master's degree grade (25%) higher
or equal to 17.
In the following years, students have to continue to show a meritorious performance to
continue to benefit from the scholarship.
2. Cooperation and Development Scholarship- in the first year all international students
who are nationals of African Countries with a Portuguese as the official language or who
benefit from the Refugee or Stateless Statute receive a scholarship. In the following
years, the students must have a minimum approval rate to continue receiving the
scholarship.
Yes, the tuition fee can be paid in full at the time of enrollment or in 8 equal amount monthly
installments.

All the study programs are offered full-time, corresponding to being registered in a total of 60
ECTS credits in courses of the study plan. However, students can also enroll in a part-time
regime, where they cannot register in more 30 ECTS (and pay a tuition fee equal to 70% of the
full time fee).

The classes are taught at the University's facilities in the city of Évora in Portugal (map available

In the case of Masters or Doctorates which are offered in association with other Institutions, the
classes may be taught in the partner institutions facilities. This information is included in the
Program Applications Call.

How to Apply?
For undergraduate course the application process depends on whether you are European or
non-European and whether you are living in Portugal for more than 2 years. If you are an
European citizen or a resident in Portugal, you have to apply to Concurso Nacional de Acesso
(National Access Application) or to the Special National Applications (M23, Holders of an
undergraduate degree, and so on) – more information in: DGES. If you are a non-European
Student, you have to apply to the International Students Application.

certificate of completion of secondary education or legal equivalent) and approval in
national exams for access to higher education if required in the country of origin (e.g.
ENEM in the case of Brazil ), or
• Portuguese secondary education diploma or legally equivalent qualification awarded by
a secondary school or by the competent services of the Ministry of Education;
Note that if you are attending an undergraduate degree at a foreign higher education institution
and wish to attend, only for a semester or one year, at the University of Évora, you must apply
for mobility.
The qualifications and conditions of entry needed to apply to Master and Ph.D. programs
depend on the specific program you are applying to. The conditions are specified in the
Applications Call, available at www.oferta.uevora.pt.

Language
The programs are taught in Portuguese. However, there are some courses that are taught in
English, and in most courses, the professors provide tutorial help in English.
