Course Structure
• Problem-based Learning:
i. Monday PM : Lecture /Group exercise
ii. Tuesday AM : Lecture /Group exercise
iii. Week 1-4 : Learning about MATLAB
iv. Week 5-8 : Learning about SIMULINK

• Assessments: MATLAB group work (25%) and SIMULINK

group work (25%).
• The only way to learn SIMULINK is by doing Exercises and
hands-on Coding !!!
What is SIMULINK?
 Simulink is an “add-on” to MATLAB.

5
What is SIMULINK?
 Unlike Matlab (e.g. syntax-based), it operates within an
interactive graphical environment through customizable
set of block libraries.

6
What is SIMULINK?
 Simulink is typically used for simulation and model-based
design for dynamic and embedded systems.
 It let you design, simulate, implement, and test a variety
of time-varying systems e.g. communications, controls,
signal processing, video/image processing and other.
