Baseband device is new Ericsson
equipment which used for 4G
technology and also could be
connect two technologies
together like :-
4G with 2G or 4G with 3G or 2G
with 3G.
Software needed :
 Programs :-
 1-setup-x86 program (used before install emcli program).
 Any internet browser (used for integration and formatting base base).
 SFTP program (used to transfer data between laptop and Base band).
 Emcli (element manager command line interface), used for checking
Base band alarms .
 Software :-
 make folder in “C” name it “baseband “ including the following software

+01_SiteBasic_UER1048_WCDMA_BaseBand_Korek+02_SiteEquipment_UER
1048_WCDMA_BaseBand_Korek+RBSSummaryFile_UER1048_WCDMA_Base

 Note :- these SW different from site to another except
(Baseband_SW_Upgrade_Package_16B_R17JC) is fixed SW for Base band.
Software install of baseband
How we install emcli?
 First time we install setup-x86 file and change the following setting .
 First time we install setup-x86 file
 Then we install em_install file
 Then change laptop IP as below
Put Base band folder in “C”
includes the files as in shown below.
 From the browser we enter to IP https://169.254.2.2 and put these
data:
 In user: ftp
 Password: ftp
 Site installation file: Copy from “C” full name of RBS summery script.
FTP configuration
 Use any FTP software like freeFTP soft
 After open freeFTP software and select user we fill data as below

 Login : ftp
 Pass word: ftp
 Home directory : C:\baseband
 Then we select SFTP and fill blank as below
 After that from the browser we click to Download file
 Wait to download complete
 After download complete we click to integrate
 integrate complete
Make format to baseband
 In the browser we go to address: https://169.254.2.2/ea.html
 To format baseband we click to Board restore
Use element manager launcher .
 To login to the software we entered
 IP: 169.254.2.2
 Name :bb
 Comment : bb
Write lt all (this command gives you
permission to check every thing
through other commands )
User name : rbs
pass word : rbs
Write : al command to check
alarms
Write : alt command to check
alarms time .
Write : ala command to check
alarms description .
Write : cabx command to check
all devices status .
Write : st ru command to check
RRU status .
Write : st ret command to check
RET status .
Write : st tma command to check
TMA status .
Write : st sector command to
check sector status .
Write : get ecport command to
check hub position .
Write : get supportfunction command to
check support function control must be
“FALSE” in case baseband is secondary node .
Write : cvls command to check
saved CVs on Base band .
Write : cvms name command to
create new CV on Base band .
Write : cvrm name command to
remove CV from Base band .
Write : get address command to
show Baseband IP address .
Write : help command to show
element manager program help .
Write : exit command to close the
program.
Note :-
 The (site equipment , site basic and RBS summery file) will be sent
by RNC team .
 In case the RBS summery file is not sent we can modify on any other
RBS summery file as shown below :

 Open RBS summery with XML program and modify the path of the
following files (site equipment , site basic and RBS summery file)
