4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory
Activity Divide the class into six groups. Give each group a set of rambled letters for them to be arranged to form
a meaningful word.
Group 1-MEISIL (SIMILE)
Group 2-REHOLYPEB (HYPERBOLE)
Group 3-RAPEMOTH(METAPHOR)
Group 4-YORIN (IRONY)
Group 5-CONATPOREFINISI (PERSONIFICATION)
5 minutes Give them 30 seconds to form the word.
The first group to form the correct word will be given a reward.
Each group is expected to have formed a literary word.
Then, present the objectives of the lesson on literary devices.

4.2 Activity Distribute print-out copies of the literary devices and terminologies to the students.(Refer to Appendix A)
Discuss the common literary devices/words which are already presented in the introductory
activity(simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, irony)
After the discussion/lecture, ask the students to go back to their respective group. Then, have them
compose a short poem, a song, a plan for a menu, an advertisement, or a poster using the literary
word assigned to them in the introductory activity.
Give them 15 minutes to do the task.

Group output will be rated based on the given rubrics.(Refer to Appendix C)
Each team member will also be rated based on rubrics.(Refer to Appendix B)

4.3 Analysis
Allow students to assess their own work based on the given rubrics. Let the members of the other groups
give comments and suggestions to the work of the presented in front.
10 minutes Give feedbacks/comments and suggestions to each group's performance.
4.4 Abstraction
Ask students to enumerate the common literary devices that they have just learned. Ask some students
to give the definition of each literary device and have the others give an example of each literary device.
5 minutes

4.5 Application Have the students formulate a sentence or a line of a song or a poem using any of the literary devices
that they have just learned from the discussion of the teacher.
Give them 3-5 minutes to do the task.

4.6 Assessment
