4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity
The teacher asks the learners how many of them are fond of reading, what are their
styles of reading, and what kind of material they usually read.
Then, she/he processes the students’ responses and informs them of the objectives of
5 minutes the lesson for the day.
Then, she/he presents a power point presentation of the different reading styles. She/he
instructs the students to take note of the information presented.

4.2 Activity
The teacher instructs the students to read the selection," Words of Wisdom" by Damiana
L. Eugenio, Learning Package in Grade 7 English, pp. 4-7(Appendix B) and accomplish
the Discovery Tasks 1 & 2, LP pp. 7-8.(Appendix 3)
For Discovery Task 1. Locate, Reflect and Evaluate! The teacher asks students to
accomplish the task by pair in 5 minutes using the scanning reading style. Then, she/he
25 minutes asks them to prove the correctness of their responses.
For the discovery Task 2. Classifying Proverbs, the teacher asks the students to use
Damiana Eugenio's system to classify proverbs. Then, she/he discusses the students'
responses and the meanings of the proverbs.

The teacher asks the students to answer the following questions:

4.6 Assessment

Anlysis of Learners' Have the students answer the given quiz in ¼ sheet of paper.

The teacher encourages the students to make a habit of reading newspapers, magazines
