Interview Protocol
Introductory Script
Greetings.
Thank you very much, _______________, for your time and in accommodating me for
this phone interview. As you know, the purpose of this interview is to talk about your
practices in your school regarding the implementation of the DepEd’s LAC policy,
particularly LAC sessions. This interview should last about 30 minutes. After the
interview, I will be examining your answers. However, I will not identify you in my
documents and no one will be able to identify you with your answers. Thus, I am assuring
you the full confidentiality of your answers. As you know, your participation in this study
is voluntary so you can choose to stop this interview at any time. Also, I need to let you
know that this interview will be recorded for transcription purposes.
Guide Questions
1. From your own understanding, what is LAC? And what is LAC session?
- How is it different from your usual administrative and/or faculty meetings?
2. How do you select the topics in your school for your LAC sessions?
- What are your practices in conducting needs assessments?
3. How do you conduct planning activities that lead to the identification of your
professional development needs prior to the conduct of your LAC sessions?
- How are you using various data-based documents (e.g., self-assessment tools,
classroom observation results, critical reflections, surveys, research-based teacher
development needs, and students’ assessment results) to guide your selection of
teacher development needs?
5. How often do you conduct LAC sessions? How long do they meet? How do you meet
or communicate (i.e., face to face or virtual)?
6. How do you select the resource persons for your LAC sessions? How do you obtain
material resources for the LAC sessions (e.g., supplies, worksheets, videos, equipment,
budget, food, and venues)?
7. How well do teachers aware of their roles during LAC sessions?
- Can you describe the coordination among your LAC members, leaders,
facilitators, and resource persons throughout the LAC process?
9. What sources are you usually using during the operationalization of your LACs?
12. In what ways do teachers in your school collaborate during LAC sessions?
13. Is there an individual or group action plan for the implementation of agreed activities
as an outcome of your LAC session that would be implemented or applied in the
classroom?
- How do the teachers in your school report the implementation of agreed
activities in the classroom?
- How do the LAC facilitators and LAC leaders in your school monitor and
evaluate the implementation of agreed activities in the classroom?
