This activity will act as a connection from grade
10 to grade 11. In this activity I will provide the
students with a slip of paper and have two
linear graphs and one quadratic graph on it and
ask the students if they can come up with the

To review the concept of factoring I will give
the students a bingo sheet that has factored

then they can mark it off with a candy. Once
the students get a bingo they can eat the candy
that is on their bingo sheet.
The students will play factoring go-fish. The
students will receive cards that have quadratic
equations, factored quadratic equations and
roots on them. Each student gets 5 cards to
start with, any equations that have not been
factored must be factored (can be recorded on

- Once the class has discussed why you would solve for x and how to make the quadratic formula, I would like to
show them a video of a proof of it.
- Then in their pairs they will complete questions that find the roots of equations using the quadratic formula.
