ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE SECOND PHASE SELECTION FOR BEST IN RESEARCH S.Y.

2019-2020

Mechanics

1. In adherence to minimizing the risks due to the pandemic, research presentation will be
recorded and submitted to [email protected]. It is advised to use a Gmail account
as it can handle bigger file sizes than Yahoo’s. In case that Gmail will ask you to share the file
using a link, please make sure that it shared to everyone who has the link. If you don’t know
how to enable this feature, Google it.
2. The deadline for the submission will be on June 11, 2020, 8:00 a.m. Late submissions will be
automatically disqualified.
3. The rubrics for this phase is sent through your papers’ advisers. You may secure a copy from
them electronically.
4. The presentation should last for less than 10 minutes. Be efficient with your presentation while
taking into consideration the rubrics.
5. The presentation (PowerPoint and audio) has to be done in English.
6. It is decision of the group if all the members will be seen/heard on the video. This doesn’t mean
though that they will not help in revising the paper/presentation. The committee will ensure
that each member had helped by asking the Group Leader and the Paper Adviser (if applicable).
7. There is no “strict” format for the presentation. You will be guided though by the rubrics.
Meeting the standards indicated is all it takes.
8. As agreed by the committee, you are NOT REQUIRED to appear (i.e. visually) on the video. This
means that you may do voice over while the focus of the camera is on the slides. This can be
done via mobile phones. If the group prefers a PowerPoint presentation with the presenters
appearing on the video, you are most welcome to do so. Please maximize the use of the internet
in sharing your ideas to avoid going outside of your homes. You are also encouraged to seek for
the help of paper advisers.
9. For the Question and Answer time, as unanimously agreed, it will be considered as a part of the
presentation appearing at the end of the video. The said questions are as follows:
a. What makes your research the best among the other entries?
b. After doing this research, what do you think are the research-related opportunities you
can improve on?
c. What do you think is the best learning we could get from your research?
10. The passing grade for this phase, regardless of year level, is 90 points.
11. Take the time to review the file as there are cases in which the file does not have an audio, etc.
12. Please contact Mr. Rivera, Ms. Belisario, and Mr. Saccuan, should you need additional
information.
