Storyline
A Master Artist has summoned the most talented artists in the world to create a painting
so extraordinary, they will sell it for billions of dollars. But little that they know, an
impostor has invited himself to the party…
Set-up
Determine who is going to be the Master Artist.
The Master Artist chooses a category for a word to draw and announces it.
The Master Artist chooses a word for that category and writes it down on pieces
of paper. He writes as many papers as the number of players minus 2.
The chosen word cannot be too specific. Ex: Pit bull instead of dog
On another piece of paper, he writes «Fake Artist».
Then he folds the papers in little paper balls and place them into a cup.
Pass the cup around the table so everyone except the Master Artist picks one
paper ball.
If you have a paper written a word you are an artist.
If you have a paper written «Fake Artist», you are the Fake Artist.
End Game
Players get 3 minutes to discuss who is the Fake Artist.
On the count of 3, every player points at who they think is the Fake Artist.
The person with the most fingers pointed at him MUST REVEAL his identity.
In case of a tie, the Master Artist decides.
Winning condition
Master Artist and Artists:
Win if they found who is the Fake artist and if the Fake Artist doesn’t
guess right what the word is.
Fake Artist:
Wins if he does not get caught by the Artists.
Wins if he gets caught and figures out what the word is.
Variants
The two Fake Artists go to New York
There are 2 Fake Artists among the Artists.
The Accomplice
At the beginning, on one of the papers written the chosen word, the
Master Artist also writes «Accomplice».
Then, the Master Artist asks everybody to close their eyes (including
the Master Artist). Then he announces: «The Fake Artist and the
Accomplice open your eyes to see each other. » Then they close their
eyes and everybody open their eyes.
The Accomplice tries to help the Fake Artist by drawing more
indicative marks and try to talk away the blame from the Fake Artist.
In the end-game, if the Fake Artist has been discovered and has
guessed the word right, the other players vote for who they think the
Accomplice is. If the Accomplice’s identity is revealed, both the Fake
Artist and the Accomplice lose the game.
